OK, I know I started a thread about this a few months ago but I felt this deserved a clean start.
I just bought a LOW mileage termi pumpkin, and am going to fit it in the 94. I have ordered a set of Fenco Reman Cobra Halfshafts, and am HOPING to be able to shoehorn them into VIII chassis with no modifications.
What exactly are the dimensional differences (length please, I already know the spline differences) beween the Stang and the VIII units? I am THINKING that there is enough play between the inner and outter joints to compress/ extend an inch overall.
If that is'nt enough, I'll chuck the shafts in a lathe an extend/shorten them as I need. I'm just trying to avoid that at all costs.
For those about to say (it's not worth it to convert to 31 spline)..........
I know this, but got the pumpkin CHEAP, and it is already 3.55 and trak-Lok'd. I don't have to buy a new Differential, Gears, bearings, and pay someone to set it up. For 150 bucks total (plus my labor), i'll be running the gears I want with very little hassle in it.
Some insight would be appriciated into this matter.
Thanks guys.
Mike
