My brother and I did my coil conversion last weekend and everything went smooth. I wanted the 1.5" lowered kit so Eddie just told us to cut one coil from each spring. We dropped the car back down and noticed that the back sits a little lower than the front. We cut the coils exact so were wondering why it sits like that. I know that they have to settle in. Will this settling bring the front down more than the back to hopefully even it out?

i bought a lowered coil kit for him an i have to say i dont really like it. its too soft, i was hoping for a more agressive sporty ride.

as for the ride hieght mine is pretty even if yours does not settle in you could always get some spacers or something.

yeah thats what I will most likely do if it doesnt even out. Otherwise I like the kit. It rides nice and take bumps smoother than I expected.

Here are some pictures.

gonna ride like crap now.... No wonder people dont like the lowered kits they sell for these cars

why was the kit need to be cut?doesn't the kit come already 1.5 inch lowered?i was also thinking of doing mine?i looks fantastic but im still confused of having to cut them?is it to get them even lower?but that is really low?wowo....my t-bird is lowered 1.5, love the ride but whats the difference from the ray switch?is it the same height?i used to have the same color93 mark8 miss her, was totaled last year:(

The car handles more responsive of the road then the airbags did. Its also almost the same comfort as the bags were. American Air doesnt do the 1.5" lowering kit anymore. If you want your car to be 1.5" lowered when you do the conversion then you have to cut them. But anyway I just need to know if the front is going to settle more or do I have the get spacers for the back to even it out. I mean its not drastically uneven but I would prefer if the front matched the back.

Yes that is what Eddie told my brother to do.

Well if you did exactly what Eddie told you to do then it's done right. They don't come any better on the air ride than Eddie.

I don't think they sell the lowered kits anymore ...

The 1.5 lowered kit that I have on my 94 rides fine ... a lot better in the curves ...

Ray Switch vents all air from the bags ... it's not the same as the 1.5 lowered.

I'd give Eddie a call but I would be surprised if the front doesn't lower more in a few weeks.

Yeah, I wouldn't do ANYTHING until "at least" 14 days. Because of the weight of the engine, the front springs will always be a little more stout and would be the last to settle.

No lowering kits anymore as far as I know. I built my own with T-bird parts and eibach 1.5 lowering springs.

i did the same to my t-bird with the eibach 1.5 w/tokico's big difference in looks and performance. I take my bird on cruzes and leave the mark8 for the car shows. thanks for the feed back, too bad they dont make the lowered ones anymore for the conversion kits....for the marks.

Yeah i'm definately going to wait a little and see if it comes down a bit. They arent even worn in yet.

Ok so I have put on about 200 miles since I did the conversion and the car has settled a bit but it is still uneven. What should I use to bring up the back about a half inch to become even with the front? I really dont feel like taking the front apart and compressing the spring again and cutting a hair off it.

Then again it has only been like 10 days so i'll give it another week then approach it. But I would still like to know what I will have to use just incase it doesnt settle anymore.

Thanks for the help.

i have done the coil conversion myself a few times now, and i have the same problem with my car, it sits lower in the rear....maybe put new coils in without cutting that should get you to level with the front or like posted add a spacer to each coil
