Clutch replacement cost?

Yesterday I went to look at the 95 that was for sale with the 96 I bought. Like I said before I want to buy it to make sure some moron doesn't get it and destroy it. It isn't quite as nice or built up as the 96 but I liked it. I can't tell for sure but it felt like the clutch was slipping a little bit. It could have just been me though. I'm just curious about the cost of a new clutch before I make an offer on it. Thanks : )
 
No clutch in an automatic car unless its been changed to a stick...
If you don't know if it has a clutch for sure or not, I'd bring someone that does to look at it...
 
It definitely has a clutch : / and it is not an automatic. I have never driven a car this heavy that was a manual. That is why I said it may have just been me.
 
Lol Blue is right if it is a real manual it is 100% not stock there are less then five people i know of that have converted a mark to a manual. If it is it does not make it worth 10G's or anything but if you want a manual i would buy it cuz you will not find another

Yeah I have no clue what it is. I thought maybe the 6 spd was an option. I know I have seen thunderbirds and LS's that had manual transmissions :(

Hmm. She wants 4500 for it. Its a 95 LSC model. The manual is nice but honestly I think the 96 I just bought would blow the doors off of it as far as performance.

I will take some pics of it if I go to look at it again : D

If it's nice enough that you can't tell that it wasn't factory, I'd buy it if I were you. Car definately had some thought put into it.

It probably would seem slow if the clutch is gone.
 
A T-56 converted real 95 LSC. Yeah I would make an offer on that car. A centerforce DFX is fairly cheap and you would have a very sweet and unique ride.
 
Wow, he never posted anything about having a converted car.
It might not be a true LSC, it might just have the body moldings etc.

Write down the vin number and post it.
If it is a LSC and its clean, that makes it worth more then a base.
Add in the fact it has been converted would make it worth more to some.

If the clutch is cooked, it has been beaten.
 
Okay I'm learning very quickly about these cars LOL. I'm going to try to answer as many questions as I can here if I miss anything just ask : )

1) the trans is a 6060. I was told he chose that one because it was the easiest to swap in?

2)I'm told it is a real LSC. It has the right body moldings and bumpers, perforated seats, clear headlights, etc

3) I do not have the VIN but will get it tomorrow.

4) there was no ad. The cars were just parked at a park and ride at a local mall with for sale signs on them.

5) the original owner/swapper had mentioned to the guys at his shop that something needed adjusting but was apparently a very busy guy and just never got to it. It probably doesn't need a clutch according to his friends at the shop. They are going to look at it tomorrow and let me know what it does need and how much it would cost.

6) they said at his shop that he was on this forum a lot and got a lot of ideas from here : ) they also said he had another account on here before the 96cordovan one but for some reason it got messed up and he made a new one. Maybe he had mentioned the swap under that name?

7) they said he intended to start offering the conversion at his shop and write an article on it but wanted to get it 100% right (adjusted) first.

Phew I think I got it all there. I also learned this car has 3.55 trac loc rear. He had planned to install a supercharger on it after the trans was finished! Wow

So after they look at it as long as it doesn't need major work I am probably going to buy it. If I don't and one of you are interested I will put you in touch with the woman selling it. Just FYI there is a member on here that is already first in line if I pass on it.
 
The car is located in Maryland in Northern Baltimore County. I will let you know if I pass on it but I did promise someone else first.

As for buying 2 so soon I never really paid any attention to these cars before. Something about seeing 2 of them together for sale drew me to them. The red one I bought made me fall in love with them. Then I learned the background of the cars and I now feel compelled to get the other one and make sure they stay nice and not get destroyed. You can almost tell that these cars were someones pride and joy. It makes them seem special to me.
