Clean LSC for Sale...

That car makes me want to repaint mine to make it perfect. He has his HID facts wrong though.

... He has his HID facts wrong though.

That's what I was thinking... Correct me if I wrong but I heard that HID's were offered as an option on '95 LSC's and were standard on '96. But if I was looking for a Gen 2 what a sweet car that is!

The ad I think was stating the fact that the Mark VIII was the first car in the US to be produced with factory HID's. I don't really think it meant that specific year. 95 was the first year with HID's in the LSC model and then the 96 came out with a lot more of them and then other auto makers followed suit.

That car has been for sale for years. Last I remember he wanted original sticker price for it.

It was the first US made car to offer HID's, but the 7 series BMW was the first brand to offer them. Mercedes offered some models with HID's here in '96 as well.

I was referencing this statement:

This cas was the first to use HID headlights, not Mercedes or Lexus, but the Lincoln Mark VIII!

Speaking of HIDs I have a chance to get my hand on some HID headlight lenses from a 96 LSC. But the problem is I have a 93. I do want to put HIDs on my 93 but here is my question... Will it work? And what do I need to do to make the bulbs fit in the lens?

Then you let me know and I'll sell you two HID bulbs and ballasts. Hell, I'll even help you install them. Key word being "help". This does not mean I'll install them for you.

I am wondering what it has for shocks as first he describes the wonders of air shocks and how it lowers etc then under mods on the car talks about an upgrade cant really upgrade and keep the air can you? other than the ray switch?

Then I wonder what he takes the time to promote it in the ad, The wonders of air. Even taking the time to include the link of the lowering commercial

I believe what frogs is referring to is shocks, which are gas filled absorbers.

The STRUTS are air.

I didn't really care about all the inaccuracies of his add... I just can't get over how amazing that paint looks!

Damn that is a very nice car, too bad it really didn't generate 330 hp.

Oh, man! Where do I start!?

We are selling our one of a kind 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC Special Edition show car. The Mark VIII is a high performance personal luzury sports coupe that will spoil anyone who drives it. This car is fast, it handles like a sports car but pampers the driver in leather. It's unique surrounding dash is like being in the cockpit of a jet fighter.

It's spelled "Luxury".

This cas was the first to use HID headlights, not Mercedes or Lexus, but the Lincoln Mark VIII! It was also the first to use puddle lamps, those small floodlights built into the bottom of the rear view mirrors to light you entrance at night.

car*.

Wrong! Mercedes, Porsche and Audi all had HID lights before the 95LSC Mark VIII's had them as an option. Same goes for the puddle lamps. And it's "your entrance" not "you entrance"

And most interesting of all this car's great innovations and features is it's ability to lower itself at highway speeds. At about 50mph the car lowers itself to the ground for better aerodynamics, performance, and fuel mileage.

Innovation? Dude, the 1960's Citroens (yes, the French car) had this feature. Granted, it was using something 30 years ahead of it's time, called a full time hydraulic suspension, not air.

The air suspension in this car affords the driver a smooth drive on the highway while retaining sports car like handling on winding roads.

Sports car like handling? Are you on crack? Certainly, it carries it's 4000lb weight around corners better than other 4000lb Luxo barges, but sports car like handling? Put the crack pipe away. Even with Addco sway bars and full polyurethane bushings, the Mark VIII will never handle like a sports car.

The Mark VIII was featured in a TV commercial demonstrating it's ability to lower itself at highway speeds. You can see this ad by clicking here.

Just about all cars are featured in commercials demonstrating a feature they have.

GENERAL INFO:

Engine: 4.6 Liter, four overhead cams, 32 Valve InTech V8 Cobra engine generating over 330HP

Seriously. Crack is bad, mmmkay? The LSC was rated for 290 flywheel HP. Take about 20% loss through the drive train, and you're looking at around 230 Brake HP. Furthermore, the engine is NOT the Cobra engine. The cobra has a similar engine, but that's about it. Cobras came with forged internals and better fowing heads, while the Mark came with cast internals and lesser flowing heads than the cobra.

Transmission: 4-speed OD automatic, 3.27:1 final drive, w/All Speed Traction Control
Top Speed: over 150 MPH

Over 150 MPH, huh? Wow... That's impressive! Seeing how the car was factory governed at 125MPH. Yes, yes, I know... "But I have a chip!" More on that later.

- Why even mention it if you don't have the cradle and cell phone? I have them if you are interested.

A LIST OF FIRSTS IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY:

First use of Ford 4.6 Liter DOHC Modular engine in 1993, this is the same engine that went into the Mustang Cobra in 1996

Again, you're mistaken

The first production vehicle to contain both a high and a low-pressure gas discharge lighting system. Its distinctive high-intensity discharge (HID or high-pressure) front headlights produced 2.7 times more light than standard halogen bulbs and its low-pressure neon gas rear lighting made the car visible to vehicles following miles down the highway. A 48-inch neon tube across the rear of the Mark VIII improved both the visibility and the reaction time of the center high-mounted brake lamp

Auto industry's first use of "puddle lamps"
- Wrong

Auto industry's first use of integral directional signals in rearview mirrors
- Wrong

Auto industry's first use of a neon tail lamp for added security

First car to lower itself at highway speeds for improved stability and economy
- WRONG!

MODIFICATIONS:

Numerous modifications including an upgraded specially programmed chip that dramatically increases performance

What moron decided to go with a "chip" on an OBD II computer, when a tune is a lot easier? And cheaper, in the long run? And what other modifications are you talking about?

Larger MAF and specially modified cold air box to keep out hot engine air and allow cooler outside air to enter the engine

Why? The stock MAF is 80mm! You'll NEVER over range that MAF without boost on the 4.6

New high performance shock absorbers and bushings

High performance? And who are these shocks made by?
New Dunlop Sport tires

Yay! And they'll have to be replaced after the car's beens sitting for so long

Suspension enhancements to improve handling
Such as...

APPEARANCE:

New OEM Mark VIII LSC floor mats
LSC Collector's Edition shiny wood shifter handle (replaced stock leather shifter)
LSC Collector's Edition shiny wood center console surround (replaced stock satin finish wood)
Tri-Coat Toreador Red Paint with tinted clear coat. The car positively glows in the sunlight
