I listed the mark up today on CL and i got an email askin if i sold it yet, and i replied, then i get a message sayin how im listing my car way under value and to check out this website. So i reply to call me and i get another message tellin me how crazy i am for selling it that cheap, so i pretty much said if its so cheap then it sounds like the car for you.... and nothin yet but its from a gmail account so seems realistic but seems spammerish... any one else experience somethin like this before?

I was trying to sell Shelby nose trim, and the only emails I got were emails about people wanting to buy my car, or trying to sell car insurance, or people trying to sell me new cars for a trade that's why I stopped using CL

it can be a real pain but no matter what ive made alotta money on CL. But than again thats why i havent used it for a while cause it can be very irratating, but i just gotta sell it so ive got no choice... no interest on here so i gotta move on.... Just tryin to make space for my 78 Bronco

do yourself a big favor and just put in the ad you will not respond to "is this still for sale" or "do you still have this" it is very frustrating to get those damn emails, and you know your address is going to put into some spam list most likely.

If people cant ready your bold print, i doubt you want to meet up with them anyways lol

I always ask people to reply with a number so i know they are not fake, i cant stand the flake's

I always tell them to include a key word of number in the subject OR content. If they do not, its spam.

What they want is your e-mail address... to spam. Know good e-mails are worth money.

Never use an email address that you check or use regularly. Only use it for when you use CL and if you're not selling anything, then you don't have to worry about it. Let the spam build on it all they want. When you list again, delete everything and start fresh and check it daily until it sells. Other than that, forget about that email address.

The first hour i had my Firebird listed i had over 30 emails like that... i like to find the local sheriffs website and email the link back to them. Im still getting emails about the firebird 3 weeks after removing the ad....

A new trick they use is they act interested and ask you to go to a link in the email to verify something, or compare something for them...the link will f up your computer.

When I was selling my wifes car I had numerous shmucks say how interested they were and how they would buy it if the insurance was reasonable. They said since I knew the vin# etc they would buy it if I can verify the insurance price per month for them. They then provided a link....pffft I'm not clicking on a link, and I'm not someones f'n secretary.

I got another one asking to cross reference my car with another to make sure I had what he wanted...again providing a link.

All of these attempts were from gmail accounts, and all had similar names. It's the new craigslist scam. Just any fyi for the uninitiated...don't click on links in emails.

This is from one of the scammer/spammer which i did NOT reply too but just to show you a perfect example.

"is the items still available for sale and in good condition?"

The items?? You mean the car dumb ass lol

another one

you listed it way under value. I checked it at http://snipuXXXXXXXXXizcf1htcjzhzbzk and the price your asking for is way off

I hate them.
