Chrome Trim from FlexChrome

For the bumpers I used Ford trim pieces. They were the exact contour to fit in the bumper trim slot. The slot that the bumper trim goes in is perpendicular to the ground at the adhesive point, but the exterior of the bumper slopes, so the chrome for the bumpers is thinner at the top and wider at the base. If you put that 3M chrome strip in the bumpers, it will be set deep into the channel and look funny, imo. But as for the doors and quarter pieces, the 3M stuff works perfectly.

I got the same stuff but it does not fit in the bumper properly. you didn't put anything under it ??

Call up your local ford dealer and see if they can look it up, that's what I did.

Has anyone left the bumpers on there car chrome and painted only the side chrome? I found some OEM bumper insert replacements and was debating painting the sides or not. Any pictures out there of it done?

Since the topic is active. I've considering chroming out the grill on my gen 2. Wondering if they made chrome grills for the gen 2, I haven't seen any. I feel like chrome strips would look horrible on the grill. Anyone know something I don't?

Well, here's a good one... How about to fill in the ugly gap when the chrome falls off our 1st Gen corner lamps?

i stick the chrome in the slot on the chrome piece across the front, put the big rubber thing behind it, and put the screw back in the end with a big washer on it. ghetto, but way better than no chrome.

I siliconed mine back on when it happened to me.

Mine are not in good condition. They have some corrosion. They need to be replaced. The issue with this particular part is that its starts thick & then thins out towards the back.

i found some oem bumper inserts!:D So I am only gonna replace the bumper chrome front and back and paint over the side chrome trim on the doors and the quarters. Will post some pictures when the car is done!

Why would you just re chrome the bumpers but not the sides. Just paint the sides and the bumpers. It will like less like a half done POS.....just sayin'.
