check out what I just scored!!!

quick question for you all, how would i install the HID headlights on my 95?

remove the balist and splice into my headlight wires?

Yes

What kind of after market ones do you have? And aren't they in Base housings?

yeah the factory stuff was pretty decent, better than the cheap stuff now. considering running my OEM lights again.

ive got a set of DDM 4500K 35W with the base housings.

I think your base housings are the problem..I tried my hid kit in my base housings for sh*ts n grins and it barely had half the output. The lights looked fairly clean with clear lenses but the Chrome was gone and didn't reflect much. I've seen some pretty bright aftermarket hid kits..so I don't think thats it. I'd rather go aftermarket than start cutting and splicing to get those 17 year old balasts and bulbs to work with my car.

i had an HID kit in fairly new base housings. maybe a year old. they kicked ass. ask terry. its what he has. his housings have never had halogens in them.
but if your chrome is gone, its a no go for sure. regardless of what you stick in there.

i will start stripping the car this weekend, and let everyone know what is left.

Yep, never had a halogen burned inside mine and I use Kensun 35W ballasts and 6000K bulbs and they are bright. I have the HID housings boxed up out in the garage. I might get lucky and run across a nice Gen 1 around here some day. Or, some dumb azz might run into me and bust my halogen housings.

Have sprocket pm me, I'll give him a good price on it.

And yes the motor has a blow head gasket, but I'll fix that and put that in the truck :)

Is anyone interested in buying the car?

I'm all for saving the car, it's rare and I know it's restorable, I just don't have the time and money to restore it. I don't want to see her get crushed, but that is the plan after I strip it for parts.

If the car was cherry and the only thing wrong with it was the motor, than I'd say fix it up. That thing isn't worth the time and you already have ideas for its parts.

I would just use it as parts and sell the rest for people who need them. No need in spending a lot of money on a car that is not worth it.

Have you confirmed yet that the head gasket is indeed blown? I would confirm that before parting what might be a perfectly good car. If it's not a head gasket and you can solve the overheating, then you should be able to resell it for a decent profit. Yes, you might make more in parts, but there are two few of these on the road to just part them anytime it makes more money.

Either way, I think you should let me buy the DA glass.:D

I'll be PMing you again soon.

Well there's one thing that would be a deal breaker for me if it were mine to decide on...does it have any rust? or is it solid? IF it's solid I would say it's worth it to save seeing as how these cars are disappearing from the roads quickly, and rust free marks are hard to come by now, let alone 1st gen LSCs. If it's saved..sure you might end up in the long run spending more than just finding a nicer one..but then again the same holds true for all of us who spend money on these cars..if we were all worried about being cost conscious we wouldn't modify these things and have fun with them, because the second you do, you have already exceeded its value..just my 2 cents.
