So as most of you guys know i recently finished wrapping my 04 LS matte black. truth is yes it look wicked, but i just couldnt take how dirty it always was. i have never owned a black car and i give props to all you guys with one. also the car just wasnt me. i love to see the shine of a clean car and the matte just wasnt doing it for me. So i ripped it all off last night.

and now that i have it off it makes me really appriciate the beauty of the Autumn Red LS!!!!

opinions are welcome. :)

here are some pics of it now.

Now that was a quick change of mind. Hate to see all of that effort gone so very quickly.

All that work?!?! Still a good lookin ls tho.

Im all for makin the car "your" own. Thats how i am with mine. It represents me damn near perfectly lol

Love the way it looks in the last pic. I agree that you have to make it your own. I don't know if I could own a black car for that reason. I like to keep it clean and do my very best to do so but it's hard to keep up sometimes.

Was there any sort of hassle taking it off?

I no i wasnt sure about it once i finished it. So i left it on for about 2 weeks hoping it would change my mind. but the longer i had it the more i didnt like it.

see that is how i feel with the autumn red. everyone that knows me said that the matte black just didnt fit with me and i agree.

it was a great learning experience and i dont regret it one bit.

it wasnt bad, pealed right off. it left a little bit of the adhesive but water and a little scrubbin and it came right off.

You're crazy.. this sh!t is staying on my LS for atleast a year hahah.. It's pretty annoying keeping it clean but seriously you can wipe it down with a towel and its clean.

Anywho I still like your car, maybe you could wrap it in a diff color sometime later, you do have the experience now!

I'm on my 6th black car. It's all I know. Maybe i should never buy any other color ecause if it's truly easier I may never go back to black haha. But I love my black. And it's always clean. I get compliments daily and people asking how it's always so shiny haha.

I am bias here. Autumn Red is a killer color on a sunny day. But its not what I think. Its what you think that matters. As long as you are happy with it. That all that matters.:)

Damn son!

I am with Soopa on this, after the work put into it - I am keeping it for a while haha.

But that's cool you got it all off in one night. I am not sure I could do that, lol.

Car looks kinda neat with the matte black accents you got going now, though.

i actually thought about it. i still have some vinyl left over so maybe ill give it a try one day in the future.

I have a suggestion. Try two-toning your LS with the matte black. Just an idea. Would have been easier if you had done before you removed it all. Oh well, just an idea.:)

I dont like the wraps at all. Good job taking it off.

I agree, for some reason drizzles car pulls it off perfect though. Personally I think yours looked way sharper with the chrome rims and autumn color.

Props on getting it off, must have been fun.

I've had one black car my entire life. They are hard to keep clean, and some idiots out there don't have any idea how to buff a black car. If you do it right like most of the black LSs on here, the mirror shine is flawless. The Autumn Red is the same way I'm assuming. I love matte colors. I'm more of a rat rod fellow, so it goes with the way I am. As soon as time permits, mine is going Hot Rod Flatz rock moss green. Close to the LS green I have now, but flat with a satin clear. Some 19" 8.5 Niche Circuits, with my suspension project I'm doing ATM;) I should be a happy camper.

Probably the matte/chrome look he has going on. The lse grille, bumper trim, and the wheels just make the matte black look real good.

I think its the same in any color, if you do the whole car in one color, it wont look right. Like those colored cars that have the wheels the same color, the same color everything, something needs to contrast more than just having it all one color, IMO.
