Cant find DCCV

After searching the forums i've came to the conclusion that my DCCV- "Dual coolant control valve" needs to be replaced, i'm not getting cool air, even on both zones on 60 deg i still get warm air, and in the winter @65 it was hot, so i'll try replacing that part, the only problem is i cant find anywhere online where i can purchase that part! any one have a link or suggestion where i can buy a DCCV? Thanks
 
Rockauto.com they have it for less than 100 with free shipping and that's the motorcraft one wich is made by Bosch
 
thanks i appreciate the info. another thing i went to buy a a/c pressure tester and none at autozone fit, when you guys checked your a/c did you have to get a special tester?
 
Check the fuse for the air conditioning, also try recharging your system before replacing your DCCV. My system would only blow hot air and blow the fuse, after replacing the DCCV it did the same thing. I recharged it and it now blows cold air and doesn't blow the fuse. I used a can from Walmart, the charging port is behind the drivers front tire.

Are you sure you aren't trying to use the high pressure port instead of the low pressure one? Those cheap gauges are for the low pressure port only. (You have to get under the car and remove the shield from the driver's side under the compressor area to get to the low pressure port. It's fairly well hidden.)
 
Check the wiring connector to the DCCV before you go to the expense and trouble of replacing it. I have heard others report that the wirring connector got corroded and/or a wire broke. Easy fix compared to DCCV replacement.

thanks for the advice, i'll take a look at it tomorrow morning, its to bad i cant find a diagram for the ac system that would make things easier.

Do not just through more refrigerant in it at random...be sure you know what you are doing and why you are doing it or you could make things worse.

What are the procedures that you have to follow to change this part? I've searched the forums and unfortunately there aren't any listed.
 
awesome thanks joe, i guess it'll work out since i have to replace my upper radiator hose anyhow, and i ordered the dccv, the upper rad hose and cabin filter all at one time, Think i need to recharge my ac also?

The real way to tell is to connect low and high pressure gauges and verify the readings against the chart.

A simpler way to get an idea if you need to is to put a thermometer in the center outlet and set for maximum cooling. If it gets to 40 F, then you are likely to be okay.
In general, even with no leaks about 12 oz of refrigerant will outgas through the hoses about every five years, give or take. At that point, you might notice it not cooling as well as it should.

Replace the DCCV and see how that works out before you worry about the refrigerant.
 
ok, ill post my results when i replace those parts, estimating by around monday with shipping.
 
I just ordered mine from partstrain.com and I am going to replace as soon as I get it. Its been over 100 degrees here in florida. I wonder if anyone has any step by step on how to remove the DCCV?
