ok guys seriously, old lady needed a new car and she's always wanted a pontiac grand prix GTP supercharged, so I search and find a puff 2000 GTP with only 51k on it. Original owner, garage kept, full documentation, beautiful car!! She's tickled pink with it, but her brothers keep telling her she'll whoop my lincoln, I don't think so, but before I make an idiot out of myself I figured I'd ask....not her car is 100% stock, my car isn't (mods are in my signature) my cars been running good lately, so what do yous think? can i win?
 
I have a 2000 GTP. They'll get you on takeoff but you'll catch up @ about 45 & dominate from that point foreward. Unless you have a 2nd gen.....
 
It will be close. When I was at Atco I spoke with a guy running the GTP and his was a beat high milage car. He ran high 14's and low 15's.
 
put a cardboard restrictor plate in her airbox to be sure.

you have driven the gtp?right?
what do you think?.
 
I have run two GTPs that were certain they would stomp me. The 2000 red one had me till 20 MPH and I walked him. The 01 black one owned by this chick I used to work with ran me every day from the light in front of my office till the merge lane (1/8th mile~ish) and only once did she beat me. It was the first time we ran and I didnt know we were running. :lol: She gave me crap the whole next day, the day after she shut up when I shut her down.
She had a cat back and a pully and I believe that was it. I only have a tune. :D
 
my brother has one of the supercharged GPs. it definetly beats my car off the line but from a roll its not quite as quick
 
I think you should be able to take her easy with your mods if she is stock... but add a pulley to the GTP and forget about it... can you say 13's!
 
Even with a underdrive pulley I still walk all over my buddies GTP. Buy it for her so she feels fast.

Ummm... no it's that as simple as a pulley swap to run high 13's in a GTP. You need pulley, exhaust, tune, intake and some good tires...
 
Put something under her gas pedal, you can't let her beat you.
Nothing like a little throttle stop to guarantee a win.

Its only cheating if you get caught.
 
Or cut a hole in the floor under your gas pedal, so you can push it down FURTHER!

I saw one run 13.98 with a pulley and a tune... and I think a new fuel pump... but hey maybe he was a lying liar that lies...
 
Interesting! I gotta take notes because I drive some streets at times where I find kids in cars that love to taunt me. I dont play with them because I DONT like street racing but I'd love to tell them to meet me in an closed street somehere.
There's a guy in a red Dodge NEON SRT that drives by my house daily & whenever I'm working on the Mark him & his friend look at me then rev up the car so I can hear his turbo. I'm 100% stock with the exception of the FLOWMASTERS & I omitted one catalitic. That's it.
One diferrence between my case & yours dude... U have to see her everyday the rest of your life so be careful, lol! :)
 
SRT-4 will beat us :( Little bastards are quick.

Anyway, the proper way to beat your girl is to not leave any marks and never hit the face. Dont wanna look at that crap. :D

hahahahaha...i'll run her sometime...just gonna make sure i'm 100%, don't care so much if she beats me, more so for the brothers just for egging her on....wanna give them a big FU for doubting my lincoln...hahahaha
 
give it a hefty shot..... just to be sure :D :nxsmile but on a side note i blew the doors off my buddies 00 gtp, he had 130k or so... but that was a one shot deal happy enough to not try again :D
