Replaced everything in front except those. I still hear a thunk when the front end goes over bumps.

even replaced the lower control arms? that is what made the biggest "Thunk" on my car, the inner tie rods sounded more like a jiggle sound, lol

Took me a couple years to figure out my clunk over bumps. Its my steering rack. Get the car in the air and see if you can move the front wheels a little before the other side starts to move. You can just grab the tire and try to shake it on the same axis it turns. If it can wiggle back and forth before the rack moves then you know its time for a new rack.

Yea, upper/lower control arms, struts, outer tie rod ends, control arm end links, strut rod bushings...

Rack and pinion I would bet is a pretty penny. Maybe jaimy has one. How hard are they to replace. I took the car to a parking lot and it seems to have a dead spot in the steering when I throw it around quickly.

Well I have found them on eBay for under $200 for the gen 1 and almost $400 for the gen 2. The place lists each year seperatly but IDK if its a different rack. I really want a 93 rack as they were quicker ratios but have no idea if it will bolt right up to my Gen 2 with no mods.

Have you replaced this?

That's what I put on mine Laser and it was a job but well worth the time and the rack was free. :D I put my bad 94 rack on the 93 before it was pushed out back and covered up. Both sides would wiggle back and forth but now, nothing but tightness. I really wanna say the Gen 1 will work on the Gen 2 but don't quote me on that. PM Jamie and he'll know for sure. KK might even know.
