Been looking around auto parts stores in my area and no ones got them. Anyone know where to look? It'd be nice to get the alignment worked out on her.

unless its been wrecked, you really shouldn't have any issues.
what alignment issues are you having?

The car pulls to the right. It was doing it when I bought it but the tires were completely bald so I thought replacing them would fix it. Then the air ride went out and I didn't have the money at the time to straighten out the suspension. I drove it to and from work daily for about 3 weeks with no air ride then when I got the money I put on a coil kit. Bout a week ago I went and got a new set of tires as well as the alignment, they said my alignment is shot and I have to get a camber/caster kit and bring it in then they'd able to work it out.

That combination of stuff is what I imagine did it, because the car has never been wrecked.

Take the car somewhere else, hey either are stupid or trying to get more cash from you. The front suspension has built in adjustment for caster/camber/and toe. Unlike some cars that need a "kit". All of your front end angles are adjustable from the factory.

absolutely, like dan said, they are ignorant or lazy. everything is clearly adjustable.

Including the rear alignment is adjustable...once I was told I needed a caster/camber kit for the rear and they looked stupid when I showed them the bushings adjusts the alignment

Took me 3 years and over 10 alignments to find a shop that knew what they were doing. What a difference it made too!!

This should be interesting. I'm either going to have to talk to the manager and see if they have anyone who can do it or try and get my money back, which isn't likely.

I got it at big o tires who had a deal at the time, buy an alignment and 2 tires and get 2 free. It was a good deal, when I was under the impression they could do the alignment.

Thanks for the help. I was convinced something was wrong with it because I was driving it with no air ride for a few weeks.

Took my gf's '95 cougar after rack, srb's, Outer tie rods, upper control arms etc...

Alignment shop said can't adjust caster...car drifts right, mentioned the adjustment then he gave me some bs of why he cannot adjust...said ok fine paid $40 and left.

I'm gonna verify the adjustment is not siezed then send to a more notable alignment shop

I also have to replace front links...and strut rod to frame bushings and send my mark viii for an alignment

I go to the local Ford dealership with my Bird & LSC. $69.95 and a perfect 4-wheel alignment every time. I had to change the rear UCA bushings once on the Bird and the LCA & UCA on the front of the LSC to make everything tight enough to adjust, but that's about it.

I agree. There is a ton of camber, caster & toe adjustment on the Mark VIII. The only way there wouldn't be enough caster adjustment is if the car was in a wreck. No telling what kind of machine they're working with, but the nicer ones made the last 20 years or so will even tell the tech how to make the adjustment. Thats ass-u-ming they want to do it, rather than just bail out.

+1 to all of the above. SLA suspensions don't need caster/camber kits. The Mark VIII's upper and lower control arm design has plenty of adjustments. The shop you went to must have either mistakenly thought your Mark had struts in front, thus requiring caster/camber plates (like my Cobra has), which is unlikely, or they thought you didn't know anything about cars and were trying to feed you a line of BS to get more money out of you. I vote for the latter. Caster/Camber plates will have no effect on the Mark VIII's front suspension since, unlike a strut suspension, the air spring/shock has nothing to do with the alignment of the front end. Not to mention the fact that caster/camber plates don't exist for the Mark VIII because of the SLA front suspension design. I'd take it to another shop or to a dealership where they know what they're doing.
