The wife and I have decided to buy another Lincoln. This one will be a MKZ. We test drove a MKZ a few months ago. She really liked it. It gets good gas mileage. Has all the same options(except power tilt steering) as the LS. I started looking today. Found two black ones used, for a good price. Plan to get that price down a bit more. I will keep you guys informed.

The base MKS will start at about $35,000. OUCH!!!!!

And please color match at least a good percent of all the chrome on those things:D

I am going to kill the wife.:Bang Now, she wants a Toyota Camry Hybrid. I think they are ugly. She wants the good gas mileage. I want style. I am going to see what kind of deal I can get on the MKZ. Talk her into the price and style over foriegn.

Man, hybrids aren't a bad idea with gas the way it is. I'd applaud her decision and support her about the change of mind. More $$$ in your pocket for other toys.

it depends how good the millage is, the escape hybrid is a joke, sure its good millage for a escape but they regularly suck anyhow

The escape hybrid gets pretty decent mileage, but you're paying quite a premium for a hybrid. Gas would probably have to go to $10/gallon to even the hybrid premium.

I am not a fan of the Camry. On weekends I would be stuck driving it.:( The wife wants something better then our '03 Durango(12mpg). The MKZ would double her mileage. Plus, I can take the MKZ to our local Ford dealer for service. Our local Ford dealer is the BEST!!!!! They take care of me everytime. Best dealer I have ever dealt with. I was NOT impressed with the local Toyota dealer. I use to take our BMW Z3 there for service. Toyota, BMW, Scion, Lexus dealer. Besides, I would rather buy American.

2009 Camry Hybrid MSRP $25,400.
Gas mileage 33 city/34 highway.

I can get a 2007 MKZ for around $23,000 fully loaded.
Gas mileage 22 city/29 highway.
I am pretty sure the hghway is wrong, I get 24mpg at 78mph in the LS. Sees low for the MKZ.

The Camry hybrid is assembled in the USA and the MKZ is assembled in Mexico! :shifty:

But I agree the MKZ would be more fun and not a bad choice unless you do lots of city driving to make the hybrid worth it.

Doesn't matter where it's assembled- matters where most of the profits go.:)

And where do most of the non reinvested profits go? To the Ford family, 'big bosses' and share holders? Certainly not into my pocket, thats for sure! Lol.

Lincoln's taking pre-orders for the MKS. Should be out next month. :)
They've already sold 8600 MKSes, and they're not even supposed to be available until the end of the month. That's definitely good news for Lincoln.

Personally, the only "foreign" cars I would consider are Mazdas and Volvos, because their profits also come back to the US. And yes, the Ford family may get a cut of those profits, but so do the Ford Foundation and the stockholders (IIRC, Ford is one of the companies that still pays dividends), not to mention Ford's retirees.

Just a quick reminder of the sticker price of the LSE in 2004. Even with the discounts they were still pretty pricey. Sales Tax and a few dealer options pushed very close to $50,000 before the rebate. Fortunately for me the big engined Denali I traded in was still worth something in 04.

If you get the MKZ you absolutely HAVE to put the 3dCarbon body kit on it!
It is sublte but kickin'!

I will be doing rims for sure. Already have the tires. 19" rims chrome or black depending on color of the car. Body-kit would have to wait. I have two other projects going right now. The LS and Beretta get done first before I do start on another one.
