Thought I would post this in case it ever happens to anyone else. Has anyone ever seen this before on a Mark VIII? My buddy called me a few weeks ago and said he went to start his 93, and it backfired and a huge puff of smoke rolled out from under the hood around pass side cowl area. My mother was in the hospital at the time, so told him it would have to wait. Finally had a chance to look at it with no tools with me. Started and ran but ran very ****ty. Acted like it had jumped time, but I figured that was unlikely. Next time I saw the car I had a fuel pressure gauge with me. Fuel pressure was fine. Started searching for a bad vacuum leak and here is what I found.

Yes I'm assuming he must have had an injector that leaked fuel. This happened about an hour after he'd parked the car after driving home. I just swapped another intake and fuel rail with known good injectors and car ran fine.
