I'm just wondering where this guy come up with a brand new, unused, almost 20 year-old engine!

I got a buddy with a brand new (take out) mark motor.

Forgive the Gen 1 question from a Gen 2 owner.

But isn't that a '96 manifold with the vacuum and electronic IMRC actuators?

I'm just wondering where this guy come up with a brand new, unused, almost 20 year-old engine!

They're out there. I had four N.O.S. '94 M8 engines here, but I sold three of them and stuck one in the XR7.

The guy has two complete engines and is going tear them a part .I told him they would be worth more complete or at least sell as short blocks.IDK how much he thinks he can get for parts but I picked up a 94 long block for $200. with 199.xxx miles and surprisingly the pistons, cylinder walls and bearings have little wear on them.

I decided to send the guy a little friendly advice. This is what I sent:

"Good morning. I've been a Mark VIII owner for over 12 years now and I just need to convey a bit of friendly advice to you. You will never get that amount of money for that indake manifold. It simply will not happen. One could purchase a complete engine with very low mileage for less than half what you are asking for just the intake manifold. One could even buy a complete GEN1 Mark VIII in good condition for the amount you are asking for just the intake. I know you probably believe it is worth its weight in gold because it is brand new and never used. But that is simply not the case. If you truely wish to sell this item, I would suggest knocking about $1300 dollars off the price. That would be much more reasonable for an intake that is 16-19 years old. I hope that you will take my advice seriously. Thank you for your time."

I tried to be as nice as possible without berating the guy. Can't wait to get the response.:D

Edit: Wow! Quick response:

"Dear ************,

Why is it people do not see the "make offer" ? I have seen this very thing sell on ebay for about the same money without as many parts.
if you want this make me an offer!

Sure, make him an offer. I would love to know where he saw a GEN1 intake sell on fleabay for anywhere near that amount of money:lol:

It was dipped in gold and crusted in jewels.

Bull. I don't care how clean/new that intake is, he has never seen one sell for that kind of cash.
