Who has the fastest N/A timeslip for a 00-02. Pulled my 20s and ran today, and she ran fast. Had alot more gas than I needed too, near 3/4 tank.
I may go again next weekend if the wheather stays decent. You should try and make it.02V8Sport said:wow! you were moving!
Most 00-02s seem to run very low 15s and will challenge a Mark well especially in the first 1/8mile. The Mark has longer legs. The LS is easier to launch and has a better traction by far. 03up LSes will run faster yet. I ran my Mark only once and never mastered launching it resulting in very bad times, it has potential to go as well as the LS.mark0101 said:Wow I didn't know the LS was that fast. I thought it was more like a 15.5 or so. Nice job, now see what you get in your mark But I thought I will be faster then the LS.

No tune.J3FF said:What is done to your LS? Just SCT?
Oh I thought it did a 14.5 stock, so you have a intake and an exhaust.02LSE96LSC91SE84TC said:No tune.
I have the LSK Aluminum Intake Tube w/KKM and the Magna-Flow cat back, thats it.
I don't think a tune can shave that much...who knows though these times were a surprize.DMcBrideBoston said:For intake and exhaust, thats an amazing time...With a good dyno tune you could see 14 flat - 14.2

I couldn't break 14.9 with 60's in the mid to high 2.2s. Also had some 15.0 and 15.1 passes with 2.3 60's. I dropped the tire pressure from 29-25 and lightened my launch technique and bam, high 2.1 and very low 2.2s 60's. Went down to 23 and it seemed the same.
The launch is the secret. You can almost make a multiplier for the 60' to get the 1/4 time with a very small margin for error.
Running the car 13 times all in one day helped me discover how the car likes to leave the line and how it doesn't.
That said, taking what I've learned, less fuel, my K&N is real dirty so I'm cleaning that, if I can get a low 2.1 60' I figure a 14.4 @ 96 is possible with no further mods.
Wouldn't be a secret if I told you. JKJohnnyBz00LS said:Great times for just a CAI and exhaust! So WHAT IS your secret for launching it? I've only run 5-6 times and it seems like it doesn't like to be power-braked off the line. While I didn't try it at the track, on the street my LS seems like it'd get a better 60' just tromping it off the line. Did you shift w/ SST or just leave it in D5?
(my timeslip is in my scrapbook)

No clue. I believe I'm "flashing" the TC with my launch method.DMcBrideBoston said:With an SCT tune in my last car, I shaved .6 off my times in similar conditions the same weekend with an exact same launch method....It wasn't an LS, but that shouldn't be too different, which is why I said 14.0 - 14.2
Would you happen to know what the TC Stall speed is, as I have never checked for myself...?
Thanks
Thats not a extremely accurate way to get it. The LS is well weighted on the rear tires so it'll take more than the true stall to get them loose. They'll break free probably a little over 2k if at all. I haven't tried brake standing it much, it doesn't seem easy for it.DMcBrideBoston said:Sounds good...
When it's finally dry here, I'll twist em up and find out when they break loose...
Actually I believe Quik posted 14.782 as his N/A best I thought.StinkinLinkinLS01 said:Unless ur on rocky/wet pavement I've found it very difficult to pull off a standing brake stand without letting her roll ahead a little bit at least. Those times were pretty impressive...I wish I coulda done something like that...my best was 15.3 with exhaust, intake, and Torrie's #1 tune. Q
uik's best time I think was a 14.3 probably the most mods you can possible have without nos and sc. Personally...if you can run a 14.594 with just exhaust and intake that means at best the tune would add another .2 - not worth the $400 in my opinion but everyone knows what I think...just another example why...
Again...props on the impressive times!
