Looks like fun mang!

Those wheels looks sweet when they are spinning, I've never looked at then when they are in motion.

just a small word of advice, if you want to keep driving your car, i wouldnt be holding your shifts as high as you are, i could be wrong but one of those videos sounded like you held your car way above 6000 rpm, you do that many more times and you can kiss your valve springs goodbye. your car has weak valve springs and one snaps the rocker arm falls off and you'll instantly lose a cylinder. just friendly advice, its your car so if hammering on it is a must, be cautious.

Me not shifting to 2nd cause I was really excited:rolleyes:

Racing from 30-100 MPH, (me manual shifting, bryan isn't)

from a stop. That JMOD really pushes the car up, I am gonna do some research and try to do it. both of us manually shifting. Bryan's car has a louder bark:cool:

From 50 MPH, not a good shift point

Bryan's Mark definitely has a better top end, I am guessing thats the pullies working. I will ditch my brother next time to see if that weight reduction helps...lol:D Bryan let me know where you bought the pulleys from.

just the $100 summit racing ones. search under 96 mustang. the first set of runs when i was manually shifting, i was pulling away hard.

also puts to rest the whole "dual exhaust makes more power than single." BS that gets spouted off all the time here. the 93 had duals the whole way, my 95 has a y-pipe and single exhaust.

all in all, it was a fun day at the boat races, lol.

DISCLAMER: the races films where fake, they were made useing micrsoft's real street race simulator 2008. the lincoln brand is property of FoMoCo. no animals were harmed. plus shipping and handling. dole for pineaplle, so on and so forth.

Not saying your wrong but I haven't heard this before. I know a few people who have the WOT shift points at 6500 and one guy at 7k. What is a safe shift point with the stock vavle springs?

Shift point is one thing, holding your shifts at high RPM is another and what Jamie is getting at. For some odd reason 95 is THE year of bad springs. 93/94 break but not nearly as often as 95. 96 went to a new "beehive" design that are much more reliable.

he not talking about the shift point. listen to the 1st vid, the car is just held at high rpm's.

6.5K shift point

Pre 97 motor had single springs GEN 2 engines used the same springs as the Cobra heads. Do not consistently push a Gen 1 past 6200 you will eventually loose one, seen it happen many times.
With my cam change I replaced the springs and shimmed up the pressure a tad and have my full throttle shifts set at 6500 she sets sideways at 65MPH.

Man I feel dumb asking this....

...how is he manually shifting with the automatic, explain it to me. I don't imagine you guys have it in 1st gear (last on shifter) and slide up accordingly, do you? I'm interested in this that's why. Also what is best, o/d on or o/d off. I notice with o/d off I have higher rpms on the highway, whats the best for mpg, power, etc sorry if im hijacking or just sounding like a complete moron haha.

Oh and I'm envious of you guys. Being able to take out the Marks for a spin together. I have no such luck around here, only old people drive em

like i said, just be cautious when you hold it over 6000, i'm not the only one in here who has seen it, i've pulled many 4.6's apart to find rocker arms laying in the head and busted springs and the previous owners couldnt figure out why the car wouldnt run right. those springs snap, and often when romping on these pre 97-98 motors. when you snap a spring, you'll be kicking yourself in the arse!!!

You mean pre-96. 96 was the year of the Cobra and the modular DOHC 4.6L and the year the Mark gained the same springs. Just wonder why 95, with less units sold, is SO bad for these springs.

yeah, manually shifting is just that, shifting it your self. the advantage is that your already in the lower gear, so you dont have to wait for it to downshift, and the shifts are even faster and harder. DON'T do it all the time, and put a trans cooler on.

on OD, its just 4th gear. the only reason that you really need to turn it off is when your towing something. but its a lincoln, i have no idea why its even there.

Thanks, I'll try it out just to see a diff. but probably wont ever do it after that
