On our way home last night one of my HID's decided to take a chit so it looks like Im going to UPGRADE to DDM Tuning kit. Ill be sure to take pics of the install. I will most likely be selling my good bulb and ballast too if anyone is interested.

that sucks...once i get motivated im going to take mine out and sell them. i allready have a adapter plate for a aftermarket hid kit..so i'll get 225 for my bulbs and ballast..spend 60 on a kit off ebay and i'll come out on top..

Im worried about the heat in the 55w kit. The kit we got for my brothers 94 is a 35w kit and they are still super bright.

May I have the wires and connector from your burned out HID bulb? when you replace it, please let me know. I found an HID bulb with 1 inch wires on it at the Boneyard in the trunk of an old mark. Someone had just cut it off and did'nt unplug it...

Actually I am as well. If it toasts the housings I'll just rechrome them. I'll report back in 8 years and let you guys know

55W HID kits are a waste. 35W kits already produce way more light them halogens and are what all the OEM HIDs run at. Bulbs don't last as long at 55W either.

I just went to ddmtuning.com and thjey are on sale woohoo!!!! Maybe ill buy some 4 the impala too.

Just take the ballasts out and leave the plastic bracket, that's what I did.

55W HID kits are a waste. 35W kits already produce way more light them halogens and are what all the OEM HIDs run at. Bulbs don't last as long at 55W either.

Personally I had to out-do my friend's 97 with 35w aftermarkets. I don't think bulb life will be too much of an issue, HIDs usually last like 10-15+ years and I won't mind too much if I only get 8 out of these...

Factory bulbs will last 10+ years. A lot of the BMW guys I used to work with used aftermarket stuff and none had them last more 2-3 years, though at $35 you'd still be ahead even changing them that often if you don't mind the hassle of sending them back to them everytime and waiting...
