Hi, I'm Jarrod, just bought an immaculate 98 Mark8 LSC, about 99k miles old. I used to have a 93 Mark 8, and have been wanting another since I sold the 93 (dumb move, I know, I know). Anyways, I used to be on the forums a lot about 4 years ago, and am familiar with a few of the modifications for these cars. That being said...I am completely new to the 2nd gen Mark 8s. Anything to watch out for? Any must have mods? 20130829_171748.jpg20130829_171755.jpg20130829_171805.jpg20130829_171814.jpg20130829_171824.jpg

Welcome back! Look out for blend door,HIDS, rear neon, ash tray, telescoping wheel, rear abs sensors are off top of my head. Nice looking Gen2 you have there.

Nice '98 LSC!

I did not know they came sans moonroofs. Rare?

Welcome. Nice clean Mark. Good miles also. On the sunroof topic, my estimation is that 70% to 80% of Mark VIII's had sunroofs.

wait, 4. I forgot about the one in pieces behind the shop.

Jarrod, I see you are from Dallas. Mind me asking what you picked her up for?

My '98 Same color didn't have one, it has an aftermarket one.

Oh crap! That's 5 of my LSCs that didn't have them. I forgot my 98 blown LSC had an aftermarket roof.

BTW, aftermarket roofs work so much nicer. Just wish they sat flush like OEM.

i made mine auto open and auto close.
be fun to set it up for auto close when i take the key out too.

+1 mine closes automatically when the key is shut off and the door opens. Along with auto open and auto close

Mine is an aftermarket as well, but it only automatically closes if I lock the doors after shutting the car off..not sure on the brand but I haven't had any issues with it at all knock on wood. My only complaint is how they went about modifying the headliner for it..its one of those floating headliners instead of being mounted to a cardboard backing..so it tends to sagg when its cold out and pulls tight when its warm.

OK, sorry I haven't replied yet, been busy as hell at work, and trying to get Internet at home (just moved to the boondocks lol). Yes, it isn't quite as fast as the 93 I had, but it feels more... Refined, i guess. Now, when I tell the price, don't chew me out....5500 from a car lot. He bought it at an auction. It was a one owner car. The airbags leak sometimes, so I'll be giving AAS a call in the next week or so, unless there is a better company now for spring kits. Thank you everyone for the compliments, I'll post interior pics later today. My main issue that I'm having is the dealer hacked up the radio stuff. He removed the stock amp, and did some "creative engineering" to get some sound, but now all I get is sound out of the rear "tweeters" lol. If anyone has the harness diagrams for the wires going to the amp, and to the speakers, it would be greatly appreciated. BTW, didn't know about the aftermarket sunroof. Only ones I've ever heard of were the fake stickers the ricers use lol

I wouldn't bother with the aas kit. Look for tockico shocks and a a/m spring kit.
