arnott inc.

also check your sway bar endlinks, you will need to pry the swaybar up and down and if any movement is evident they are bad too (extremely noisy!!!)

What kind of noise - clunks/popping at slower speed when wheels are turned such as turning into driveways/parking lots over curbs?

Or kind of a rattling noise over those bumpy/ippity roads while traveling in a straight line at higher speeds?

Surprisingly, strut rod bushings will make those rattling noises. I was convinced the end-links were bad. I needed to do strut rod bushings anyways (at control arm end), and after doing one side of the car - 1/2 the rattling noise was gone. Was going to to the other side tonight, but the door handle took way too long (see ranting post).

Popping sounds at low speeds when turning is usually lower ball joints... you will want to replace the entire lower control arm all at once...

Bangs/Clanks as you drive if they are from the rear are almost always worn rear shock mounts.

it makes a more of a grinding noise at slower speeds, and there is a little bit of a clunk at slower speeds going over certain bumps. i can feel it a little bit in the brake pedal
i had my mechanic check it out they said it was the upper control arms

if you remove the struts, take a flathead and pry all the flags off the heads of the bolts ( all 4 ) then slip an 18 mm wrench on the nut under the master cylinder and use a ratchet and 15 mm socket inside the wheel well, on the heads of the bolts and break it loose, i do this to everyone i work on it cuts an hour off the whole job , makes life alot easier and gives you more time to sip more beer after the job is done, you can sit back and admire what you did and get drunk too!!

You thief you stole my double secret method...:D

Don't you trust this guy? Do the uppers - then see if there are any more noises, but don't go throwing parts at it all at once (unless you really want to spend the money and time).

i just changed the uppers in my 93 yesterday because of a noise i couldnt ignore anymore. the bushings where the arm is bolted to the car were bad, causing it latteral movement back and forth, this makes lots of noise too, the ball joint was fine but the inner bushings were junk.

Arnott ones are totally fine. Have them on ALL my Marks and we just did a set on Walt's Mark last week. We have installed MANY over the years and had no issues. $109.00 a pair can't be beat.

Never again that had to have been the worst thing ever! Those ball joints were bad I could move the thingy that connects to the spindle with minimal effort I think some of that noise was from when I drove around town with parking brake on handels whole lot better now. Now I must sleep
