On every other car I have ever owned that had the keyless entry, the parking or signal markers would flash when you locked, alarmed or unlocked the vehicle with the remote.
Im very surprised that these don't do that. Is mine just messed up or is there a way to program it to it or a way to wire something up.
I still have the stock setup on mine.

I know an after market alarm would do this but I feel the stock set up is fine for now until I get my remote start in the distant future.

When I armed mine, my HID's would flash once. Looked cool lol but I agree, I think for 40G's, the car should have had double and single flashing lights with the stock system.

Very funny Topher!

So I'm guessing no one has tried to wire this up some how.

Im used to being able to look out my window and hit the button on my *cough Chevy umm cough* and be able to see that it locks or starts.
I cant tell if my car is unlocked as I approach it so I end up hitting my buttn a few too many times for my own liking.
I know I could just hit the button once and then try the door, but I guess I'm too impatient, I want to know before I get there.:)

Does your horn not make a real quick sound either? Mine did but I had a 147db siren in place of my horns and it made a quick super loud chirp, along with a quick HID flash.

do you have one of those Chevy's that when you use the keyless remote to unlock the doors, the back up lights go on. I think that's the most annoying thing ever

No its an HHR,(dont talk smack, its a good little car) just the simple flash of the lights and the remote start, which I love and can't wait to get on my Mark...but back to reality.

I am sure they do from 93 up. It would be in the owners manual. They do not flash very bright though. A capacitor of some sort may help to keep a longer residual flash.

I have given this thought and maybe its not what you had in mind, but I had considered wiring a relay powered from the interior lights, using a normally closed relay, so that it would open the contacts when the key was turned on, and wire it to the running lamp circuit on the headlight switch. That way, when you unlock the car, and the interior lights turn on, it will turn on the running lights too. If you turn the car on, the the normally closed relay would open, and your exterior lights wouldnt turn on every time you opened the door.

Just a thought.

Well here was my thoughts and I really dont know much of auto electric, but...
Couldn't you tap into the anti theift module and find witch wire powers the door lock actuators when the key fob buttons are pushed.
Run a wire from that lead to the four corners so anytime the doors lock or unlock from the key fob it would send power to the lights for that brief moment.
And since we went from the anti theift mod they should not flash when you hit the lock buttons on the door, right

I do hit the button twice to lock it and activate the alarm with the horn sound, but still no lights.
