What electronics are you referring to that didn't work? did they get them to work?
What do you mean by designed air flow?
Some info. It seems most of the blogs are gone.... After all, it was 6 years ago.... More..
The cluster, A/C, power windows and locks, trunk release, radio, seat motors, etc. Basically anything run from the pcm (which actually controls everything through the REM, FEM and other modules).
Airflow in the engine compartment. They tried a hood scoop, cutting holes in various places, anything to get air in the engine bay. The event was over before they got the cooling issue resolved.
I'm just saying this isn't as easy or uninvolved as swapping a 429 in place of a 289. With the advent of computers and then OBDII it is much harder to do what was once a simple engine swap. You can't just pull the old engine out, drop in the new one, attach the linkage and expect it to run. The gummint doesn't want you to modify your engine and chance increasing emissions. I can't even change my intake tube without a CARB certification. If I do, I won't pass the emissions check every other year.
