Anyone running these?

I'm running NGK iridiums in my '97. It runs great. The only reason they're in there is because I changed them out of the future ex's Cobra when I tuned it up and kept them because they looked brand new. I put them in the Mark when I had that misfire that turned out to be a bad #1 coil. But so far they're doing fine. The car runs like a sewing machine.
 
I run the ngk iridiums in my hayabusa and think they're awesome plugs. I haven't put any in a Mark VIII but I think you would have no problems with ngk. Their plugs are high quality. Those e3's on the other hand are total junk in my opinion, sales gimmick.
 
Out of those two i'd choose the iridiums, I wouldn't run any plug that has multiple ground electrodes.
 
Gas mileage any good? I'm running the copper 764's right now and have been since I bought the car and it idles so smooth, you can barely tell it's running and it has plenty of get up and go but my gas mileage on the HWY is now averaging @ 26mpg, according to the message center. As much as I drive the car, I'm really not worried about the gas but really just wondering if they'll outlast Motorcraft Platinum's. It's time to change the plugs IMO and I have a new set of wires which might help, seeing how I didn't replace them when I put the plugs in. I was lazy and didn't feel like doing the wires but this time I will.
 
i have a crap ton of miles on my coppers. way more than the 15k service interval or whatever.

launched hard and spun through 2nd gear. idk why you would pay more.. :confused:
 
I was just wondering and if I had to guess, I only have about 4K on the 764's that's in there now. Maybe it's just due for a wire change. The 25 mpg has me puzzled on the HWY, running at 70-75 mph in 37 degree temps. Yes, nothing but 93 for me, always.
 
I put NGK v powers in my mark when I first did a tune up, and it was great, but then switched the the iridiums.... picked up 3mpg average and had a bit more pep. I like em. Ford motors love NGK's anyway.
 
I just bought Autolite XP103 Iridiums for my LSC; I haven't put them in yet, but I'll let let y'all know how she runs!

I run Motorcraft AGSFW22C. Cheap as hell and get the job done which is to create spark. By the way, spark plugs do not make horsepower in any way. If you restore your plugs from the crappy ones that were in there, yeah of course it will have more throttle response. Some overthinking up in hurrr. Lol

That's what I recall the part number to be. I got them from my buddy out of his toolbox and if I recall correctly, they are discontinued. I think they are copper core with an iridium tip. Who knows. They work and Ive had them on the car for a long a$$ time.

Kirk, I put the 764's in there and I'm not having any problems with throttle response or idle. It just seems like the mpg's are down from last year. I was getting around 27-28 HWY but now it's around 25.5-26

I also use STP fuel injector cleaner every other tank or two. Black bottle and it runs very smooth. My wires have been in there since before I bought the car but I do have another set. Just haven't messed with them because it's been running fine. No missing or anything.
 
Chit, maybe there isn't a W in the part number. All I know is that when they were available they were cheap as hell. The key to any plug is its efficiency. Even if you find more "pep" with a different plug, that doesn't mean it makes power. It just means that the other plug was a piece of crap and less efficient.

Would a bad spark plug cause my engine to run rough when it's cold? Runs fine once its warmed up. :confused:
 
My father is a firm believer in those E3 plugs for some reason... he's running them in his '97 LSC. I don't like them... idles rough in the cold, and his mileage is actually worse - like, sub-17 MPG in mixed, easy driving.

I have NGK V-Power coppers in my car and love them.

what are you expecting to get? I'm not doing that good_ and starting to wonder if my frequent cel P1537 is cutting mpg...AL copper 764's fwiw
