Just wondering if anyone else hunts and how they did this year. I do bow, gun, and muzzle loader. I got this six thanksgiving morning.

I use to... quite about 5 years ago.. CWD in our area scared my wife so she begged me not to eat it anymore.

Plus most of the people in my party have dropped out and it's not as much fun as before...

When I was a kid I didn't know that there was Thanksgiving... we were up at our cottage in Northern Wisconsin hunting.. Sure miss those days...

Don't complain about the small ones.. they are the best to eat.. those antlers are hard to chew...

To me it's the hunt, the kill, and the meal... without the hunt or meal I don't care about the kill.

Oh by the way Dereck from England is a big hunter..

Maybe we should start a LVC annual hunting trip. We could all drive lincolns out to the woods, have some beers, share some stories, shoot some deers. Then strap them on the hood!

Ever here of the the Yoopers... The Second Week of Deer Camp.. now that's hunting.. LOL Or Da Turdy Pointer... Da Turdy Point Buck...

Would be fun... Lets get someone's Navigator or Escalade and get them all dirty...

Me my dad and uncle would listen to Da Yoopers every trip up to the cabin for opening day. I'll tell ya what their are no memories like the ones I have from hunting trips when I was little.

I agree so much.. I hunted from when I was 12 until about 42...

I looked forward to it so much.. it wasn't the kill as much as the event...

Everyone from when I grew up has passed.... I we hunted in the Nicolete National Forest... You could walk for miles without passing anyone.. it was a great time..

just kidding - no I don't hunt, but I don't take issue with responsible hunters either. I think it's ridiculously hypocritical for a person who buys their meat at the grocery store, thus having no respect for the animal that died, to condemn a hunter. I'm sure we'd all waste a hell of a lot less meat if we actually associated it less with the refrigerated grocer isles but with the creatures they actually were harvested from.

I don't hunt! I think it morally disgusting to chase down a poor defenseless creature that can't defend itself, blah blah blah..

Just kidding!:D
I don't hunt because it's early in the mornin, it's cold outside....I don't wanna go.

However, my uncle takes off from work the 1st week of hunting season, goes down to my grandfathers and they go out hunting. This year, My uncle got an 8 point buck, and my grandfather got a 7 point.

I'm In! Scares the H3LL Outta Rich Huh! lolol Scares me to, casue I agree with YOU 100% (oh man...this will haunt me). A fair hunt, appreciate n be thankful for it's bounty once you've been successful.

No kidding, I came up where hunting season started, you didn't raise up over 2 feet - lololo

Smooches!

My favorite argument for people "PETA people" who complain about deer hunting... it's simple.. I want the Wolf brought back (good thing the Wolf Population in WI is on the rise!:)) and let the wolf run down the deer until the point of exhaustion and then eat it while it's still alive. This is a better death, that a quick gun shot. Shaqdrum I know you were just kidding... but I just had to state my point...

Now I do understand the getting up on a cold autumn morning... and unless I'm with a good group of friends I've spent enough mornings in the woods..

Alright then it's settled. Next year we will hold the first annual LVC hunting trip. Every hunter in the forum will be paired with a non-hunter. We will then drive super-charged lincolns or rusty ol' pickups (your choice) out to the campsite where the non-hunters will sent up tents and make dinner while us hunters scout for deer sign. Then in the morning us hunters will head out with our non-hunting partners. We hunter's will sit quietly waiting for that monster buck while you non-hunters go tree to tree hugging it and looking for rubs. This should be enough that the deer get pissed that you are scenting up his tree. Us hunters will then hold are gun out so as you non-hunters run by with one antler in your arse you can grab it. Now us hunters will time you to see how long it takes for you non-hunters to start hunting or to get mounted. All in all I think this trip could be a winner!:D

I can see it now....one of them jumping out to take the shot for the buck....let's leave um at the....well, let's just leave em...they will be busy saving sheep and cows from manger scenes anyway (just kidding...mostly).

We have too many deer here, there have been times when I could drive 10 miles down the freeway and see 5 dead on the side of the road, now that is waste, abuse, and so cruel for them and the car usually doesn't do too well either.

Every year we would have at least 3 people stop at our house to use the phone to call a tow truck after tearing up their car on one.

Smooches Zero ;) I love your snow angel ;) as soon as we get enough - I'll do one too....maybe two! hehehe

I tried the whole hunting thing a couple of times with a buddy and his father, not for me!!! Waking up at 4:00am NO COFFEE to make matters worst drive to the RIGHT spot, walk to the stands and wait......and wait.... I waited so long that the only thing that I saw was the backs of my eyelids.LOL!!!:D

i never actually pulled the trigger myself or left the arrow fly but i used to go with a buddy of mine every season back up in massachusetts. if i helped him drag them out of the woods, he'd give me sausage and steaks so i couldnt refuse, i lugged many deer out of the woods with him, one buck he got with a bow was so heavy we had to walk 2 miles to get his jeep so we could pull it out of the woods to load it in a pick up lol. it was a 12 pointer 260lbs. i remember this more then any of them because when he shot at it with his bow, his arm snapped a branch in the tree as he drew back and the buck looked up at us in the tree stands and turned to run, well shawn let the arrow fly and the broad head sliced the testicles off the deer. it bled to death, we found it almost a mile from where we were, i never heard a deer make the sounds this one did as it ran away, i guess i would have made some funny sounds too if someone sliced my nuts off.
