hey guys im looking for a 98 Mark Viii trans, anyone got one with somewhat low miles?

I have a j-modded 98 trans with TC and 65k miles. Easily shipped.

You can email me if you're serious this time.

is yours acting up? or you just want one for the shelf?

I think my front seal is leaking but the trans itself it in perfect working order. I have put a 98 in a 94 before and know what the difference feels like, especially j-modded. I figure if I'm going to go through the trouble of removing the 95 to replace seals, I may as well go for the updated trans all together and do it up right. I can replace the seals in the 95 and sell it to someone else because it does work flawless.

Why not go for 99+ Crown vic/TC (panther cars) transmission (probably cheaper too since there are so many of them out there). I believe they have got the most updated transmissions, even more so than the 98 Marks.

True too. Doesn't have to be a 98 Mark trans. I'd take one from a 2003 GT lol. I'm just looking for low miles, red fluid still inside and the short tail shaft. I think Crown Vic's have the long tail shafts but I guess that could be changed. I'd rather just get one to j-mod, install new seals and put it in.

I have one out of a 1998 LSC. Only drove the car for 13 miles, but did not feel and issues. Down shifted and no slipping w/torque converter for $150. You need to provide a shipper. I can do a freight service from my work...

All panther transmissions are all too long because of the output shaft and tail shaft housing. They are the same transmission but you would have to remove everything, put your Mark VIII shaft in and reinstall everything with the shorter tail shaft housing.

www.Car-Part.com is your best route for this, you will have enough fun removing the old one and putting the new one in, don’t need to complicate the process by opening one up to save $50. I looked around my area and found several for $300 but $150 plus shipping doesn’t sound like a bad option either.

I have been under a 99 Vic and it had a long tail on it. It will be back over here again soon and I'll look again but I'm pretty sure it was longer than this shaft.

I also drove this car. That trans is perfect. You can't beat $150! Terry......it's calling your name!!
