Well I ran out to go the store really quick and didn’t even make it three blocks. Ended up getting t-boned. There was an Explorer parked near the corner and this girl didn’t see me coming and didn’t inch up she just went after the stop sign. This blows I've only had the car about three months and was basically done with everything got rid of all the noises, fixed the cooling system, put in the remote start, body work, countless other things, and now this. The only thing I had left was a vibration issue. I'm having it towed to my body guy tomorrow since the wheel is almost off. Well look at the pics do you guys think the car is going to be totaled? It's a 02 and I bought it with 99000 on the odometer even though my new speedo shows 35000 lol.

OUCH! That doesn't look good man, it very well could be totalled. I guess you'll find out once you hit the body shop up.

so did the vibration go away?

Sucks, sorry and hope your alright.. Id guess it will not be totaled.. I think the value of the car would be higher than the repairs. But im no agent so ill shut up. GL getting a new one/repairing..

that thing is totaled from an insurance point of view. just a hole on my door from when they broke into it and random parts inside my car totaled up to 1700 bucks, imagine that thing with 2 door assemblies, pass fender, paint plus labor and countless other parts, lookin upwards of 4k from the insurance company and with almost 100k on the clock on a 02 ls, im guessin that thing is totaled. shame tho, looked pretty clean n i kno what u mean about spendin all the money to get a car fixed up and then having it taken from u in a matter of seconds.

Yea that is definitely totaled via insurance.

Sorry to hear man, sucks that you just got all that work done... If it is indeed a total loss, then put the check and selling $ into an 06!

Hey man, give me a call, I see you are local. What body shop in the Bronx are you bringing it to??? I know some adjusters so maybe I can help you. PM me your number if you want. I know a lot of shops/people in the Bronx also, I grew up there and do work in a shop by Zerega sometimes

I had this same collision happen 3 years ago, albeit mine was a little more severe, but same impact place, the wheel and the door together. The dash in my car humped up in the middle. The cowl above the firewall was pushed up and there was no repairing that car. The impact on my car was so severe that it blew a hole through the side intake plenum with the shock tower, and it rolled the running board under that door over so hard that it trapped one of my drum sticks with the part of the floor pan that went up toward the door, bent it right over and trapped the stick hard! The passenger door was bent out at the rear of the door opening, sticking out from the roof about a foot. My son was driving, and was uninjured, even though the car got punted with a blown engine, a good 150 feet back across the intersection and into an uphill field.

Ouch. That sucks. We had a few weeks with no ls'es going out, count reset. Are those LSE wheels or just jacked up chrome wheels that look dark?

We need one of those posters you see at varous workplaces. . .

It has been _____ days since a lost LS accident

Hey guys towed it to the body shop and he thinks its going to be totaled but the adjuster should be going there beginning of the week. If its close they will just total it because of the suspension damage. I think I might look at getting a 03+ LS or Mercury Marauder.

NickT88LSC - I actually brought it to a body shop in New Rochelle - AMJ Collision you familiar with them? We use this shop for all the cars at work plus I’ve brought a few cars there in the past.

milehighmikey - wow that was a hard hit. Sorry your kid got hurt this hit wasn’t nearly as bad as that..

Alax7 - They are just chrome rims that look dark.

If it is totalled will I get the KBB value anyone know how that works? Or is KBB not accurate for a car being totaled?

John

Dude, when my car got totaled it was the exact same thing. Same damage and all.

Looking at these pictures again, it's creepy how similar the damage is. Really similar.

That sucks ass.:( If I were you, I would defintely upgrade to an '06.

Well finally spoke with the scum bags from the insurance company and they are saying 50/50 fault. I was arguing with them for half an hour last night because it makes no sense. I have no stop and she does. Should be clearly her fault. They say there are many other factors and the police report doesnt favor me. Well that was her insurance. Now they say I should go through my insurance and pay my deductible to get the full value of the car which is bull. It sucks because I have a 1K ded. I called my insurance again and they said they will go after her company because I had no stop and I wasn’t in the wrong. But I was told if I don’t take their deal and it goes into arbitration it could take 2-3 months. I didnt get a rental because I have access to another car but 2-3 months come on.

Here is the other insurance company’s deal::
Take deal: About $7500 (valve of car) / 2 (50/50 fault) - 950 (they dont take the car) get about 2800. That really is messed up. Im going to the body shop today to see what he says. I’m having an adjuster now from my insurance to go look at the car.

this is how insurance works. put a claim against your policy(assuming you have collision) get quotes, get car fixed, pay deductable, your insurance will subrogate the other insurance company to recover their loss, not yours. If they are successful, you will receive a portion of your deductable back based upon your liability.
Why would you wait 3+weeks and spend time fighting on the phone to get them to fix your car?
your insurance co does not care about your loss but only their loss, they will be fighting for their money. does this make sense to you?

2-3 months for arbitration???? Damn!!! It took me 18 months to get the guy that hit me to arbitration.

Getting your insurance involved sucks. Thats what they are there for. If you have to take them to arbitration, they are worse off. At worse case, they blame you for not looking both ways. Before you entered the intersection. Lame excuse I know, but I had something similair happen to me. That was the excuse they use to find me 5% at fault.

I would get a copy of the police report too. Cost you $5 at the police department headquarters. Curious to hear what the other factors are and how the police report doesn't favor you.

Insurance companies are a bunch con men in suits. They take your money every month. Then you need them one time. They up your rate and take more money from you.

A big +1 on what Rollin said. Not to change the subject but I had a somewhat related incident several years ago where a guy claimed I did a hit and run on his Porsche Cayenne with my LS in a parking lot. The police showed up at my high school for it and said that the guy had a 3 inch scratch on his rear bumper and that he was wasting their time on something that there was no evidence I had even done. In the police report he said I had side swiped him with the front of my car. The police drop the charge but he files a claim to my insurance. They came out and looked at my car and saw an area where the paint on the back bumper had chipped off due to the pressure sprayer at the car wash. Long story short they decided that because I had missing paint on my car that I could have hit them and that because they were liable if the guy sued they were going to pay his $350 claim. I never once had a chance to offer them the cash for it, although I understand that this may be against rules or whatever. But they then promptly upped my rates $150 each month due to my "accident." Needless to say I'm no longer with that insurance company.
