annoying chime??

wow... i really thought I was going to find the answer at the end of this thread.... then BUMP! :(

Still nothing?

I'm pretty sure NYCLS8 hit it on the head.
If I recall correctly the chime is an indication that the gage cluster has been removed or replaced. It is supposed to alert potential owners to that fact. If the cluster was replaced, the car could have the mileage "rolled back". That was the reason for the chime. I believe the cluster can be "mated" to your car by the dealer.

been having this problem since day 1...an i've been browsing in every other folder and i have yet to find a solution to this problem...this irritates me every time i set foot in the ls, i try and turn the music up to over power it, but i know its still beeping {damnit}

I have been in plenty of cars that just ding a few times.

Sometimes its to let you know the lights are still on or something along those lines but the fact that not every owner has this occur is weird.

IIRC it will also chime at about 70 mph.

What about that remote start? I see you pulled the fuse. Have you tried removing it completely?

Anyone found a fix for this annoying beeping?

It's driving me crazy. I had the Clockspring replaced and it started soon after that. Someone said something about the airbag light bulb being out.

Is that it?

Please help!!!!

I still say it's the SRS warning that the bulb is out and an airbag fault exists. The factory service manual gives no advice on changing the bulb, instead it says to replace the instrument cluster.
Alternately, you could find and fix the airbag fault that you now have. Since you don't have the bulb to flash the error code to you, you would need to connect to a Ford specific code scanner to get the airbag warning code(s), and go from there.

Cableguynoe,
I thought you were getting the five sets of five beeps at startup that indicate the SRS light is out. Is it that, or are you getting the odometer tamper beeps (at speed and in reverse) that they are talking about?
