I was wondering how many of you N/A guys with 4.10's did a total rebuild on your trans just because you installed 4.10's? Also how many did the forced tail shaft lube mod and how many installed a mech diode?

That is the ? I was asking. On another site poster said you should rebuild trans. I was like good trans don't mess with it. Plain and simple.

4.10s wouldn't screw up a trans.. It would higher your RPMs which, in time, could cause accelerated wear.. But I wouldn't rebuild a good trans with nothing wrong..

I just want to prove a point that the other poster was wasting the OP's money telling him he NEEDS to rebuild trans and add all this stuff like forced lube, mech diode and all other stuff. I know the answer just like to have this post as plain as day.

That's like saying you have to rebuild the engine, because you added underdrive pullies.

I've put 22k on my 4.10's in 14 months...zero issues.

I hear ya I have over 4 years and plently trips to track on DR's with my worst year trans 1993.

The forced lube mode is not a bad idea. You find differeing opinions on how bad it is required.

What is the mechanical diode for?

I had no issues with the 4.30's and stock transmission (other than the Baumann kit and synth fluid,) in my car...
I recommend syth fluids in any car, esp if you drive it on the cold ;)

I just got banned from the other mk8 site for saying that you don"t have to rebuild a good shifting trans to swap in rear gears. Will this site ban me to if I state stuff like this and tell others when money wasting is not needed?

What site banned you for saying that

I did the 4:10 Track Lock swap at around 18x,xxx and it went to 209,xxx when it finally lost the the upper gear sprag because of a full throttle downshift at 65mph :(

The trans was all stock with a new filter and fluid about 10k before it wet the bed...

Can I name the other site here? I named LVC and Geno and they got censored out. I think that might of added to me being banned.

I did find out one new thing thou. The 1993 trans had more holes in back of case to allow more fluid to lube the front slip yoke. So don't need the forced tail lube mod as much.

He threatened to ban me when I posted pics of my car that had LVC stickers on the windows.

I've put about 5000 miles on my 4.10's. No issues yet using syn. racing gear lube. Just now installing NOS. system that should add some stress so time will tell.97 LSC--70 k hedders by PFE.Tune by Liddio.George

Trans will be fine, forced lube is BS all the way. Don't care what anyone says about it I have done more gear swaps on these cars then anyone on this board combined over the past 13.5 years and never onece ever did I see any transmission lube issues whatsoever. Oh and MarkVIII.NAZI is the site you mean, you can't do anything on there because of the the Little Hitler Napoleon that runs it is a massive dousche.
