will be a sad day when i make it to 6 figure mileage
I owned the car since 54,000 miles and always thought the same, but actually it doesnt really bother me.
I remember the day i bought the car, i took my father. He asked "if i was sure i wanted to do this" (pay $5000 back when i was 22 years old) and i told him i'd have over $50000 into it when it was finished and Itd "probably have a supercharger on it when it has 120,000 miles on him. The plan is i'm goin to drive it for a few years to get my moneys worth out of it first and tastefully mod while doing so, then finish it when it gets parked/restored."
I can happily say after 4 1/2 years later here i am..right on track.
It would have been nice to of just bought a low mileage car and kept it parked to keep the miles down, that wasnt an option as I was 22 when I bought it.
It's getting ready to be retired to a purely "pleasure" vehicle. The car doesnt owe me a single penny, its a wonderful reliable machine and I feel ive gotten my moneys worth out of it the last 5 years of owning it and putting almost half of the total mileage on the car myself.
I picked up an F150 project and by march that will probably be 100% and the new daily. Everything is up to par on the gfs car and the Mark VIII except the blend door which I'm doing next week so i can park it...then Ive got the cobra bumper, some fresh paint, and a couple other odds and ends that i've been wanting to get done.
