I've been plugging away, slowly but surely.. I've got a few pics to show you guys.. Waiting on the gaskets that someone jacked right off my porch to get here to make sure my measurements are 'precise'.. :cool:

Quick thought that I need opinions on.. I know Quik had a difficult time finding a belt to fit his so I had an idea but Idk if it will cause too much stress at one point..

I was thinking about taking 2 idler pulleys and welding them together.. Then, running the drive belt on one of the pulleys and the supercharger pulley on the other..

So onto the questions..
1) Will this be too much stress at one point?
2) Is this doable?
3) Would the belt slip a lot on the idler?

Probably not, since holding the concentricity between the two pulleys would be very difficult.
 
My cousin asked me about it and I said no then I started thinking about it.. I know that's how the 3800s on the GMs do it but it runs right off the crank and I can't do that..
 
The proper welder will be able to hold concentricity. Offhand, I'd think a proper-sized set of V-blocks would go a long way in helping alignment

On another note, do you have any idea of how much flow there is through your intercooler?

I don't know why, but for some reason I kept thinking centrifugal when you would post about the S/C.

i dont know much about adding a SC to the 3.9 v8. i guess my question would be. is it posible to find a jag 4.0 and use the whole belt/belts system off the jag 4.0? on the 3.9
