Well, I couldn't deal with this for too long. Seeing my 97 looking like this was killing me. Did some searching & came out empty handed. Jamie was one of the first to come through offering me a header panel for a very cheap price. I was definitely looking forward to grabbing it but not looking forward to having to paint it. It so happened that last weekend I get a random text from Rich. He saw my thread about the accident & he ran across a Craigslist ad of a guy in Valrico, FL with the same color header panel. I call the guy up, within 24 hours he confirms the car color as BA! BINGO, it's my same color. Come 6:30am Saturday morning my wife & I were heading North West on I-75 to pick up the part.

I took advantage that I was taking apart the front end & installed the trims & grill that I painted to match. I saved all the chrome parts in the event that I sell the car. I will swap back all parts to it's OEM state.

My boss is my God mother. That's the worst part about all this. In my 17 years of employment this is the first........ & defenitely the LAST time I work with family. They are abusing the piss out of me. They don't pay for tolls, wear & tear, breakdowns, valet parking, etc... It's all on me yet it's all being done for them. I can't wait until I find another job! I'm making $44k p/y yet when you deduct all the $$$ I spend it comes out to $28k p/y. Not counting the fact that I'm loading the miles on my cars.... Sorry guys, just venting once again.

I TOTALLY hear you on this. Well, not the family part. But I owned a business and decided to bail out. The person who got me the lease location sorta had become a friend before I closed shop. So when I did, I had a job. It was only $10/hr cash. But I did not have to worry about being without income. After 1.5 years I quite (about a month ago) and it was the BEST feeling ever. What was strange is that I had no other work lined up and I still did not panic. I was just happy to be done!

In a one year period I put 22k miles on my car (the new Benz I got last year). Put a bunch on the Mark before hand. And I ended up doing MORE than just maintenance projects for the property management company. This is what I put on a recent app!

Duties included showing empty apartments, answer phone, setting up showings, posting legal notices, collecting deposits, reviewing leases, key handling, web site design, office clerical work. Also: snow removal, lawn care, plumbing repair, electrical repair and more.


A :q:q:q:qty boss, too much work for $10 an hour? Hell no!

So I suggest you take this "opportunity" to find something else.

Dude, I know what you mean though but it's not the size of the accident, it's the accident in itself. I know neither of my Marks are collector pieces but I took a lot of pride in my prairie tan, knowing it had all original paint & I would soon have a painted piece on the car was killing me. That's why I traveled the 550 miles round trip to pick up the same color part with original paint. I'm very picky with my cars. VERY, VERY picky. So its definitely a HUGE deal for me!

About the entertainment? You know you like pictures... We are all picture whores so c'mon. Admit it, you liked looking at these photos. It's like watching women in lingerie.

I love how it looks with the LSC parts. I have saved all the original chrome parts so that the originality of the car isn't ruined. Including the original headerpanel. In the event I need to sell the car & some dumb@ss flips out because the screws inside the header panel &/or the ones on the fenders have some paint chipped off, I can show them why I touched the screws & that this car wasn't in a BIG accident.

As for your LSC moldings, text me your bottom $$$ price.

I meant all your toll, fuel, matinence, ect ect. You can write some if not all of it off check with your tax person. I know when I used my truck for work I was able to write tons of stuff off on my taxes because of it.

Why not get an old civic or camry for work?? Cheaper on gas and repairs would be minimal.
