AC Compressor stops Spinning??!?!

IS this normal? I was trying to record the ticking from my engine - Coming from near the injectors so maybe thats it!?? Anywyas, in the 2nd half of the video watch the bottom left pulley.. it goes, and then Stops!?!?!

Ahh, It doesnt look like its actually SLIPPING it looks like it goes into "neutral" from time to time, then goes back on - the tensioner is fairly new, but I cant stand the ratcheting sound.
 
Sorry man. Wrong info. The compressor is supposed to cycle on and off during operation. If it only came on for a couple seconds and then shut off, that would indicate that the system is low on freon. It appears normal to me. Is the A/C cold? If so, you don't have a problem.

AC freezes my TI-TS off... LOL (Seriously, I cant say that!?!?!?)

Ahh Sorry I ddint call, my phone has :q:q:q:q the bed and no one can hear me :( Stupid iphone. If you are home during the days Ill give you a buzz in a bit when I grab lunch
 
Completely normal. Sounds like you have 5641673191651 problems with your car... focus on one, fix it, and get back to us, because by the time you fix some of your past problems, your going to forget what we told you to do to fix the others...

Well, if I did that, I;d probably forget.

I figure, If i find out whats wrong with everything I can tackle it all at once, rather then jack the car up over and over again.
 
I mean this in a nice way, but at your appearant skill level, you need to tackle one job maybe every weekend...

I get ya, but see - Although I lack experience, I pick up on things very quickly, and I am confident I can get everything done in one day. Im doing the sway bar links and ball joints tonight, along with buffing the headlights, and sat probably the valve cover gasket.
 
Low on 134a. Check with gauge that's meant for 134a, not R-12. 134a produces higher pressure than R-12 freon and some people try to use old school gauges, not knowing how to read them but it can be done. You would use 80% of 134a compared to 100% of R-12.

It's just easier to get a 134a gauge when adding but you do need some added. Go to Wal-Mart, look for a can of EZ Chill and it comes with a gauge. By looking at how long your compressor stays off, you only need one can or less. In your case, turn the can upside down and only add when the compressor is running. This will give you synthetic oil and sealant and coolant all at the same time. Push the button to fill for 3 to 5 seconds and let off. Wait about 20 seconds and then do it again. You'll see the compressor starting to stay on and then continue until the gauge says it's good. 41 psi is cold.
 
if the blower was not on high speed at the time of that video then i would say you are NOT low on r134a, when you are not calling for much cooling or the outside air is cooler it wil only cycle on and off like that.

if its hot out and you have max a/c on it should run non stop or all but non stop.

if its blowing cold for you, DO NOT ADD MORE R134A!!!

And this is true, if not on Max AC but being in MIAMI, 90 to 95 degrees, I could only imagine that it would be warm inside the car. At the end of that video, the cycles seem to be frequent but it would help to know what the AC was set on and what the temp was outside and to see a video of the compressor while on Max AC.

Like mentioned above, if blowing cold for you, leave it as is. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. You got enough to fix as it is.
