sucks. i repinned it and my car was shaking like hell and the O/D kept blinking. so i re-pined it again just going backwards.. and now the car stalls when in gear and takes forever to shift.. i looked at pretty much every re-pin documents online. and cant find anything to help me out!.. i have a tranny out of a 98. and my car is a 94... everyone says re-pins were simple.. NOT!!

i think u need to also swap over some parts from ur 94 trans to ur 98 (tcc solenoid,mlps)........or maybe thats on T-Birds, idk..............

Hmmmm. i cant find anywhere that it says to swap the old things off the 94 to the 98

The MLPS, and the TCC solenoid from the 94 need to be installed on the 98 transmission.

I just put a 97 trans in my 94. The 97's you don't have to re pin, but you do need your 94 MLPS and TCC solenoid. I even used my 94 speedometer gear because the 97 was an LSC.

The newer MLPS has a different plug. How did you get it to plug in to your trans harness?

i got the 94 mlps on the 98 tranny... but i guess i have to swap out the TCC and thats it?!!?

so i need to re-pin, and put the 94 tcc solienoid on the new tranny ? and then it should be ok?!

search my name - I went through this with a 99 trans and I have a long thread on it.

i did and hella stuff came up... i didnt see the thread... can you just give me the short story on it...do i have to drop the pan to get the the tcc ?

Really? You'd rather the man type you what he went through all over again, rather than you to search for a thread and read it?

wow....

Get the popcorn ready, people.

huh? there is like 16 pages of threads. i didnt say type every single thing he did.. hence the word "short" (IE repined the harness switched tcc and mlps done)

ok i have no idea what im doing. im going to buy 1/2 shift and tcc solenoid. go to a JY grab a old harness re-pin it and take it to a shop and let them deal with it.. im thinking this is the best bet cause i have no Fing idea what im doing!

Use the old TCC, MLPS, shift solenoids and internal harness without having to re-pin the bulkhead harness connector.

At this point you are probably going to need new shift solenoids too while you have the pan off....

the tranny is installed.... and im driving the car, im not going to drop the pan or mess with this anymore... if i buy the solenoids and have shop install them with a re-pinned harness? will i have anymore problem?!

If you want to drive a car that doesn't shift right be my guest...

I bet your car runs like :q:q:q:q and is slow as hell. DO it right man.... get a new shift solenoid, and maybe a new TCC solenoid... drain the trans fluid out of the pan with the car running on ramps. unbolt the pan and swap the stuff out.

Seriously won't take more than an hour of your time. I wanted to give up but I didn't and it all worked out. You can too if you make the effort - no swap is as straightforward as it seems.
