Here are the imrc plates, intake manifold, and thermostat housing all powder coated

The work looks great, however I think the stock intake doesn't look all that great red IMHO. However I can really see that you know what you are doing.
 
Wouldnt the IMRC's have some kind of rubber/teflon seal in the bearings??? Wonder how that would hold up being baked in an 350 degree oven?? I mean at least when there on the engine they have cooler air flowing around them to combat the higher engine temps.
 
looks good, if your p.c. yourself another tip is to "out-gas" the aluminum. Just heat it up to 350 for 15-20 min then let it cool completely. Heat it up again and p.c. it. Also if you cant get some of the real tight bends with the high temp tape regular painters tape can be used. Just watch your oven and when the powder starts to flow out, remove the piece and unmask. Then finish curing it.

No bearings, they were taken out and going to be replaced with new ones, those bearings were junk, for everyone complaining about the imrcs getting gunked up and stuck, the bearings couldn't help much at all, they did not move at all

What I was implying when I mentioned that was that the carbon/junk build up that happens around the butterflies in the IMRC's would obviously hinder their performance.

I don't understand what is hard to understand about that.

A clean motor runs far better than one that isn't
 
no i wasn't implying anything that that doesn't affect your motor, it does by a lot and i understand that, you can find new bearing at nmb, they originally made the bearings, but i went to a local bearing shop and they are in the process of making some
 
Where are you doing this work?

Sorry if I missed this somewhere... I couldn't imagine sandblasting in the container...
 
Some guy is bartering with me, he has a bad back, so i sandblast all his larger stuff like truck rims and what not, and he shows me how to powder coat, he does it all in his garage. He has a tent set up in his garage for sandblasting, works pretty good
 
So i went and got a quote today for the transmission to be rebuilt with all the updated stuff, out of car, the guy wanted 1100 buck, does that sound right to anybody? Around what price range should i be looking for when it comes to a rebuild?
 
I just was forced to have mine rebuilt about this time last year. Aamco rebuilt it for 2200.00, everything inside the trans was junk (i only had 1st and sometimes 2nd gear), they showed me everything including the Tourqe converter and it was all cracked and broken, the only thing that was reuseable was the case. The only way it would be covered under any type of warrenty was if they removed it and reinstalled it also.
 
Just got my grill from tic tac in the mail today, rough shape, but nothing plastic mold cant fix. Plan on taking every other grill peice out, and maybe do something else, but first i need to put the broken peiced back on and do a little more for support.
I also just got my timing cover powder coated, need to wax it and then i will have pics up of the grill in progres and the timing cover all painted pretty,
I also got my IMRC plates all polished and put back together with new bearing in it, and new screws that hold the flaps on.
