Having problems with the wipers in the Mark, thought it might be MFS, nope. Going on advice from this board to replace the motor.

How the heck do you get the wiper motor out of the Mark? Does the whole tray holding it have to come out?

Also will a wiper motor from a 96 Tbird work?

Uh, thanks Froggy - that wasn't the part I was confused about ;).

Taking the wipers and cowl's off is kid's stuff - it's the lack of room to get my big hands under the tray, and the room to manipulate the motor out.

Am thinking the whole tray is going to have to come out.... Thanks Furd, for making everything more difficult than it has to be .

Ya, remove the whole tray - motor is attached to it. Total pain where they put it.

My memory is vague, since it's been a while.

With the plastic cowling off, the tray that holds the wiper motor and linkage can be unbolted and removed as a complete assembly.

Edit: Maybe this diagram will help a little? (note the tray in the center) Take that out and work on it on a bench.

10 minutes to remove the tray maybe, but not 10 minutes from start to finish unless you kk are one of the kinds who loves to yank and rip things out!!!!

I was referring to pulling out the tray... definitely more than 10 minutes to do the full job...
