I'm cheap and didn't want to buy one so here goes. Here are all the parts machined up and cut out of 1/4 thick steel.

Ok I'm going to have to make a disclaimer here because this is my car and I work on it how I please. This write up does not imply that this is the only way to do this or the best way.Just way I did it. That said,on we go.

Here it is all welded up and bead blasted with cover.

Here is all painted up and mocked on the rear cover.

I've been wanting to build one of those for my car...

Interested in sending me a template of those individual pieces?
I'd be your best friend forever...

A small fee will set you free! LOL Kiddin.I was waiting for pattern ?'s I will have to check my desk to see if I kept them. I know I made them out of one layed cardboard not coragated stuff.

Very nice work.

How did you know how the pattern was? Or did you already have the idea on how it was suppose to be patterned?

Hope you keep the templets in case I can use them in a few years. ;)

This is a copy of ones i have seen. Plus not to many ways to make this. One place sells it for I think 180? But it was just me making pattern. Also I machined the back cover flat right aroung the area of the fill hole. Then I made the stand offs same height. So when steel peice is bolted on it pushes and holds that area "up". So it can't flex back. I don't think any other maker does this cause of casting differances. Mine is spot on, or really "right on the mark" lol

HAHA....Perfect way to put it at the end.

Lol you caught that. Hey check out my other thread "lower frame stiffeners" A poster at end has a link to ones he made and it shows this brace thats store bought. His has steel standoff and slotted holes, mine alum(little lighter) and on thru holes.

I saw that. You have been really busy it looks like.

Or these are all things you had done threw the years and you are just sharing now?

All done years ago. I had some posted on another Mk8 site that I got banned from. So to say the least I really don't like that site anymore. Got banned for stating that you didn't have to do a total trans rebuild if putting gears in a stock MK8. What?? Really!!

I remember that. Calvin needs to be kicked in the nards.

Dont forget to rebuild the motor before you change the spark plugs.

mk8.org?

When did that happen?

Correct about 3 or 4 months ago. I was a member there since 2006 and was a paying member.( I once had my blue guy) I helped 100's of peeps with all problems if I could and have tons of helpfull posts for 5 years!! I have the same handle over there, or I did I mean. I heard lotsa guys here got booted from there also. No skin off my back but I like to help people. I was saddened that I was booted after being a nice member.

Didn't you get the boot for your sticker? We should start a post "Who has been banned from MK8.org" What do you think? LOL You are a key Mk8 player too and should not be banned.

I thought I saw your name over there.

Well sh!t man that sucks.

So far I am safe.I haven't done anything to my Mark yet. :D

Not sure if I am banned. He told me to remove the picture that had a LVC sticker showing in the window and I havent been back since. I may be banned.

My momma taught me if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything. So I'll leave it at that. LOL By the way you post any pics of you car yet?

Not yet.I was planning to soon.

It's only fair for me to pay first at MK8 and post there also.So far I am still in good relations.

My sig says it needs TLC and I am not lying. There are by far worse though.

Dude you wanna talk about needing TLC? When I bought mine it had 4 different brand tires on it,dead battery, dead front height sensor, frozen air pump vent(would go up and up but not down) Torque conv shudder,Trans bang(1-2)accum,missfires,rusted completly frame mounts(the bolt on ones),dead amp, horns dead, key and headlight switch messed, I fixxed all those cheap and runs like charm now. Still have to do the leaking oil pan have new one.

I do believe you have me beat. The ride is nice and can not complain.Body is straight with the exception of the driver side front fender that was wrecked once but fixed,it is just primered on the front tip.The car can really use a paint job though.

And there are a few little dings from my friend who I got the car from.He was also in a paraplegic. The same goes for the interior as there is some damage from the wheelchair.

Radio doesn't work too well. The antanna will go up and down if it is on.

So everything really is purely cosmetic.

Let me know if you find them. I'd be willing to send some money your way for them too. Even if it's just a copy.

If you can't find them, I'll probably just try and make my own using the differential cover I've got in the garage.

What did you use to cut that out with?

If you get one/make one.

I would be willing to draw it up in cad.
Make a blue print and or a .dxf or .igs file.

I would cut one out with a plasma cuter. :)
alum I would just mill it.
