60ft and 1/4 ET formulas

That tire size is almost 1" smaller in dia than stock dia. Making the gear ratio even lower. I can't run them that small in dia. I wouldn't want to rev mine that high.

FWIW, with your trap speeds, I think you're spot on with the gears and tire diameter. You could upsize a bit as you get faster.
 
Thats why I said just the engine is stock. If I'm not mistaken your engine isn't stock plus add on's.

I guess we just have different terminologies. To me, you might have a stock longblock, but that isn't a stock engine if you've got a Vortech on there.

I've never claimed that I was running a stock engine. Far from it.
 
I looked but I didn't see any numbers for your Cougar ?? PS here is a picture under my hood its a little old and not current but you get the idea it is really stock. Just about were the air cleaner shoud be there is the Vortech.

. Autos can and do 60 like a mofo. Shoot my old 351 auto went 1.38 60ft N/A.

I don't doubt that but a footbraked automatic won't compare to a stick car dropping the clutch on the rev limiter.. now with a trans brake, that's another story..I always liked this video..this stang can get up and go with a 5 speed...

If your really into drag racing an auto why would you not have a trans brake?
