Actually it's Union Pacific's #844 to Yuma.
The UP #844 is the only steam locomotive never retired by a North American Class I railroad. Union Pacific's #844 made it's way across Arizona to Yuma today. It has not been in Southern Arizona since 1976. I have never had my LS out of town since buying it. Took it on a 260 mile round trip run. Had to chase down the UP #844 three times to get some pics. Ran out of light, so the last pics blurred as it went buy. The UP #844 was running at speeds over 60 MPH. Had to wait for cops, RR security, pedestrians and traffic to clear so I could run it down and get ahead of it for another shot. I was going 85-95 and hit speeds just over 105 (just had to do 100+ MPH). These passenger cars are stored in my home town of Council Bluffs, IA one mile from where I used to live. Dad and I rode UP's Passenger train out of Omaha being pulled by this UP #844 in the late 70's. Here's some pics.
