300C run in

To say HP and torque is ONLY good for benchracing...isnt really an accurate statement.

Old saying "HP numbers sell cars, Torque wins drag racing". ;-)

yes, it is an accurate statement... quoting BHP numbers as a end all to racing is like quoting fox news as news

also, the people like yourself that quote horsepower and torque numbers are the same people that think a 1999 Z28 camaro will make 305BHP, a 1999 SS camaro will make 320BHP and a 1999 vette will make 350BHP.... you're also the same guys that think terminators have 390BHP stock because that's what the window sticker says

you guys are making it sound like the fake HEMI is a MONSTER with that 4,300lbs curb weight... hate to break it to you dodge leghumpers, but it's not... by any means

it's a car that dyno's MAYBE 290WHP with a gear ratio and weight that makes it a 14 second sled that has a hard time out trapping a new edge 2V GT

it's clear to me a lot of people here like to bench race with window stickers and don't have a hell of a lot of time in at the track or racing other vehicles

also... just by the way you talk about torque I can tell you are uneducated on the area, torque is a mathematical figure based on A LOT more than just how much it has, you look at how much torque a BMW M class has and tell me it's slow based on the low figures, I'll wait

Exactly. Show me on video..some sort of proof. A stock LS (or even one with bolt on mods) going up against a stock 300c Hemi engine from 0-60, 0-100, 30-100. Whatever speed.

also, again... you are showing your ignorance... have you had the cylinder heads off of the so called "HEMI"?

my Porsches cylinder heads are more hemispherical, the only thing truly "HEMI" about the new dodge engines are the positioning of the valves on either side of the chamber which allowed for a bigger airflow

chalk one up for buying into marketing

Sorry to tell you that I am not a pubescent boy. But anywayz I was just telling it like it was. Wow I thought the people on here were atleast respectful and mature:shifty: . Sometimes the stats dont matter on a car. But hey "To each there on". His car could have ben misfiring for all i care. Like i said-I beat him, whether you say he was trying or not. Have you ever heard of anyone letting someone win, he was clearly not on of those..Come on. You guys can keep trying to figure out an excuse for what happened, while I go wash my car. ;)

just remember it won't be the norm... after racing enough of the 5.7L LX cars I have learned that it's a pretty even race with the edge to the 5.7L (obviously)

my hypothesis on what happened was he tried to WOT it based on your initial WOT... which would leave him playing catchup, now from personal experience I've found that a few tenths of a second lead in reaction time is a HUGE deficit... so he was probably falling back very gradually... then IMO he just gave up which would account for your "multiple car lead"

also, if those are YOUR wheels in your avatar... IDK, I just wouldn't be trying to race too often if that's the case, those things look like they weigh a metric ton worth of unsprung weight

Dude...I use the term "hemi" because thats what..the engine is called. Yes, I know it's not a "true" hemi due to the heads, blah blah blah.

But you dont see me overly concerned about your usage of the term Mustang GT..when that car is certainly not even remotely equivalent of a classic Gran Turismo class vehicle of the 60's.

Its just..what its called. :-)

I believe every part except the part about you left him on the straightaway. Thats just not happening IF it was the C...the one with the Hemi.

Been there..tried that. lol[/QUOTE

I think our wt makes a difference...the 300c weighs 4200#'s

Maybe the driver also weighed 300# and he had a full tank of gas. :) Many possible factors. I have an acquintance with a 300C. He took me for a spin and then let me drive. Its got pickup no doubt. I would never traid my 03 Premium for it through. I wasen't impressed. Even though the LS is down on horsepower the 3.9 is a jewel. Now to get more people to sign up for Quik's supercharger.

Lets leave the Alfa's out of it...

Only those with experience may speak
