HI guys, so i have a 2002 ls v8 bought new in dec 2001. I have 39,000 miles on it. Today driving home on the highway doing 70 to 75 miles an hour half mile from home breaking for a red light i had to press hard on the brake to stop and thats when i notice my car was revving above 2000 rpms in gear out of gear it would stay at 3000. got home and parked the car in my driveway with engine running had some antifreeze on the ground. looks like its coming from the thermostat cap. its wet around that area. all hoses are dry and degass bottle is dry. its only down a little. i replaced all hoses degass bottle put in aluminum tower a few years ago. there is anti freeze on some electrical wiring plugs on the driver side front. turn car off restarted still 3000 rpms.. no warning lights on dash wont be able to check and codes till tomorrow.
