I'm in Atlanta. Added a few days to my trip for the fun of it. Definitely had fun hanging out with everyone. Although next time we will have our chase vehicle block off the circles so that the bus driver can't park in the way.
I wasn't going for low. I was going for more of a handling upgrade. They are dropped 5mm front and back. That is where we ended up after we got them on and squared on the car. After that we just kind of ran out of time to do any adjusting. Basically would have to head out to an autocross and run a few laps then adjust, rinse and repeat. According to the Ford engineer 3/4" to 1" is the sweet spot on the LS suspension.
The shocks really transformed the personality of the car. It handles noticeably better compared to the stock '06 sport suspension. The little rocking chair and bouncing feel that the stock suspension had is gone. Extra body roll is minimized almost completely. Car has a firm feel but not overly aggressive or harsh on the lowest setting. It definitely puts the car where you want it now. If I had to give a negative critique it would be that it somewhat has a very tight feel to the road (which is a plus depending on your perference). In other words, if you are driving over a concrete road you feel the car changing driving angles to the sections of concrete in the road. On the stock suspension, you would loose some of that road feel and instead get more of a settling or slight floating feel.
This would not be something you would want to do on a car that you will be driving across country in regularly. I think the ride would be a bit harsh. You can mitigate a lot of that by just lowering the PSI in the tires. At the door-jam stickered PSI of 35 the car has a lot smoother ride. It's still firm and tight to the road but a lot of the subtlety of the road gets absorbed by the tires. At 50 PSI you feel everything without a ton of harshness. I think for the tires I have that somewhere around 40-45 PSI in the tires will be the sweet spot. Firm enough to respond well and soft enough to smooth out the road.
On another note, the "Stealh Accel COP" conversion is chugging along nicely. No misses or CELs or funny business coming from the engine. My whole precursor spark-knock/detonation noise that I had before is gone. That noise ALWAYS popped up right before a coil(s) failed.
