2013 LS Meet Pictures & Thread

Cars require the use of brakes. The trick to those carts. No brakes. Figured that out the last two laps of the last race.

... the rest of us figured it out after the first (...shhh) looked like to gocart could have used my big black spoiler!!!

Thanks again for the awesome parting gift (and to all others who made it getting to me happen) I'll post some pics of the "wrapped" tonight! With all the others.

He was too busy talking instead of listening...lol. Mr. Howie (SCCA racer) said not to use the brakes after the 1st race except the first corner.

Ouch!!!! Bad enough I finished last. But your kicking while I am down. I'm going to go cry to my mommy.... LOL

I REALLY like the plasti dip G-rell... is that matte white?

Thanks! Yeah its matte right now... gloss kit on its way (originaly damaged in shipping) I'm liking it. Got some spots to fix, rushed to get it done for meet... but I think it looks good!

Ill start a thread soon

So mad I couldn't make it down there this weekend. That stupid control arm, and needing an alignment screwed that up for me. I almost rode the bike down and meet up with you guys. Unfortunately Rollin's phone went straight to voicemail.

Cars look great guys. Really digging Rollin's new look, and that storm trooper theme is killer. I assume the black on black is the car with coils?

satellites couldn't keep up with the STL u-turns .. always next year!!!!

and Kumba had the Stance coils 06 silver!!! amazing!!

No offense at all but I thought it would have been lower. But there may be a reason why he isnt as low as Bull

I'm in Atlanta. Added a few days to my trip for the fun of it. Definitely had fun hanging out with everyone. Although next time we will have our chase vehicle block off the circles so that the bus driver can't park in the way.

I wasn't going for low. I was going for more of a handling upgrade. They are dropped 5mm front and back. That is where we ended up after we got them on and squared on the car. After that we just kind of ran out of time to do any adjusting. Basically would have to head out to an autocross and run a few laps then adjust, rinse and repeat. According to the Ford engineer 3/4" to 1" is the sweet spot on the LS suspension.

The shocks really transformed the personality of the car. It handles noticeably better compared to the stock '06 sport suspension. The little rocking chair and bouncing feel that the stock suspension had is gone. Extra body roll is minimized almost completely. Car has a firm feel but not overly aggressive or harsh on the lowest setting. It definitely puts the car where you want it now. If I had to give a negative critique it would be that it somewhat has a very tight feel to the road (which is a plus depending on your perference). In other words, if you are driving over a concrete road you feel the car changing driving angles to the sections of concrete in the road. On the stock suspension, you would loose some of that road feel and instead get more of a settling or slight floating feel.

This would not be something you would want to do on a car that you will be driving across country in regularly. I think the ride would be a bit harsh. You can mitigate a lot of that by just lowering the PSI in the tires. At the door-jam stickered PSI of 35 the car has a lot smoother ride. It's still firm and tight to the road but a lot of the subtlety of the road gets absorbed by the tires. At 50 PSI you feel everything without a ton of harshness. I think for the tires I have that somewhere around 40-45 PSI in the tires will be the sweet spot. Firm enough to respond well and soft enough to smooth out the road.

On another note, the "Stealh Accel COP" conversion is chugging along nicely. No misses or CELs or funny business coming from the engine. My whole precursor spark-knock/detonation noise that I had before is gone. That noise ALWAYS popped up right before a coil(s) failed.

Fantastic pics, thanks for sharing, looks like a great time.

Hite and I did... Never got a shoot of them together on the trailers. We split ways when we got closer to KC. two min after we did i blew a vacuum line and had to limp to the nearest exit / parts store.

I see. I wasn't aware thats what you wanted out of it. Makes sense now. Just assumed like most you wanted the low look.

Looked like a fun time.

Do you have any plans to change the format or the location of this 'National' meet going forward to try to get more interest?

Thought about it "yes". In order to pull it off. MUST have a member in the "host" city to help plan activities, scheduling, and hotel location. Most important, must have members agree on location.

With that being said. KC was mentioned at the meet. We have members there to help plan and organize hotel and activities. I thought Indy. Past meet there with another car group. Have resources to pull from to organize it.

Like to have it in St Louis next year. Got some really good things to do. Including some we haven't even done yet. Just weeks before the meet. We had 6 members backout due to various issues. I feel next years meet will more then double in attendance.

Regardless of where we have it next year, I want to help with schedule and times of events to make things run smoothly. Maps and addresses to locations for people who get lost. This will also cut down on u-turns :) I guess I'm just a planner. Imagine if we had 20-30 members trying to follow the leader...disaster. I also think if we had a firm schedule with times it would go a long way towards gaining interest. If someone has to drive 12+ hours to get to the meet and they have no idea what the agenda is, this may discourage them from coming. Its not that I didn't have fun this year, because I did, but no one knew the agenda till we got there. It was stressful with the wife and kids trying to plan their own activities around ours without knowing when and where we were going. This is all constructive criticism and I plan to help make future meets even better. Rollin did a good job planning this year but he's a busy man.
