I tried installing a pioneer stereo in my ls but I can't get it to work I'm having trouble with the acc wire
It seems not to be having power
Any help is very appreciated

did you check the fuse/s?

and by the ACC wire "seems" to not have power, does that mean that it actually doesn't have power or that your just guessing?

I replaced both fuse going to the radio
I wired the constant power to the stereos positive and acc wire together and it turned on its the acc wire on the car that's the problem
Any idea what could be wrong?

You

Need more info.

Are you just splicing wires?

Do you have an adapter?

Do you have the knowledge to do this?

Do you have the diagram?

I found a wiring diagram On the autozone website
And I have some knowledge on this I installed this same deck into another car with no problem
I've also installed a couple more stereos and a whole car system
But just like I always do I'm splicing wires

If you have wired the car's constant power and ACC wires together, then you will be lucky if you haven't done damage to the car. You can't wire them together, and I don't know why you would want to.

If this isn't what you've done, you need to post in a clearer manor if you want good help.

joegr I think he put the acc and constant from the stereo on the cars constant.

At least I hope so.

Yes, that was the other way to read that. Even if so, it means the radio will never go into sleep mode and will run his battery down over time.

Exactly what I did To test if power was going through the wires
the stereo turned on
So I don't know what could be wrong
Not even the stock stereo will turn on anymore and it was working before I took it out

You're lucky you found a good wiring guide anywhere on the net. Did you try grounding to the chassis to see if that could be your problem? IIRC, there are two grounds on the stock harness. If I can find my old harness, i could give you a proper read of the pins as the diagram you found might have incorrect information.

There is no problem with the ground
The accessory wire in the car is the problem
Would a good stereo shop be able to figure out the problem or will I have to take it to The dealer

Okay, I better understand the problem now. Your car's ACC wire (at the radio at least) is dead.
Does everything else in the car work?
Did you check fuse 2 in the cabin fuse box? It is a 5A fuse. Don't just look at it, replace it with a good one or use a meter to check it.

I'm guessing like joegr is telling you that you blew a fuse some where.

Hacking up the wire harness in these cars isn't the best route to go, these cars electrical system is very picky and get very angry fast.

I've only checked fuses 2 and 18
I'll have to check those other ones and see if that's the problem

basically, when any wires lose power in a car, i will actually check every singe fuse in the car (all the fuse boxes) i will start with the two or three for the radio, memory, acc. any thing like that, but if they are good, then i will go one by one till i find it.

i have seen way too many times where the fuse that was blown did not say anything about the radio, some fuses can power multiple circuits (even not listed) and some circuits can have multiple fuses.

if there really isnt a blow fuse, then i would look at the harness and make sure its not defective or have a bent pin, test the factory harness, and test the OEM wire back as far as i could.

okay, i kno you have done this plenty times but its actually a really easy solution...speaker wires are actually pretty straight forward, take your ground from the sterio and ground it out to the dash metal housing in where the deck sits, your yellow from the sterio will be constant power, for clock and station memory, wire that to either cigarette lighter or directly to your positive terminal on the battery, be sure to use an inline fuse along the way, your red wire from from the sterio is easiest to run run to your ignition wire that gains power once turned on, if your car still runs, the ignition wire still is getting power, chances are that wire is green, now everytime ignition is turned ON your sterio will power up... easy solution is to use a test light.. your sterio may also have a fuse in the rear, pull that sucker out and have a look... and thats it.. as i said, speaker wires are self explanitory, hope this helps, avoid dealer or shop if you can fix it yourself! dealer will rape you and sterio shop will try selling you **** you likely dont need! cheers

Also check fuses 18 and 27 in the cabin and fuse 14 in the trunk.

Thanks joegr it was fuse 27
I guess I didn't pay too much attention when reading the owners manual to see what fuses go to the stereo

Finally got it to work:D
Thanks for all the help
Really appreciate it
If it wasn't for your help I probably would've payed somebody to install it
