1st Gen. Chrome Trim - Can it be changed?

Hey everyone! The picture below is the front of my LS. Is there a way to change or replace that chrome strip on the front and back bumper and make it silver to match my car? I have an idea of how I want my car to look, and one thing I want to do is the chrome grill, which I don't think will look right with the chrome bumper trim as well. Can anyone give me advice?! Thanks!

It indeed can be painted. If you plan on doing yourself, be sure your prep work is very good.

Finally painted the chrome on the bumpers, now it looks like a sport model lol.
Still have to get the rear surround and top part of the grille (this week)

Your right. But you can find out how people who have done it did it b searching for it.

Is it permanently attached to the bumper? Is there a way to take it off and paint it?

There are clips back there. Not sure, but i think you have to take the bumpers off to get to the (only makes sense)

The bumper has to come of to remove the clips. Just mask the area around it and paint

Its worth doing. Did front, rear bumper, and rear surround. Really cleans up the look of the LS. Sand, prime, sand again, get a good surface for the paint to stick.
