1997 Red Base Model, Wrecked and Parting out Info

Didn't get pics, didn't stay long. Told the guy I was interested in a few odds and ends for myself and a few other buddies that have Marks. First words out of his mouth were "I thought I was the only idiot that was stupid enough to buy theses ugly pieces of $&@?" lol, as my black mark is parked in his driveway.

Anyway, the rear neon had a hole in it. The interior was a light yellow and was ripped to shreds. The console was busted on the driver side near the seatbelt.

He wouldnt sell anything on the car untill the engine sold at least. Engine cost with 110k.......$1,000 and $1,500 with the trans (I pull it).

The damage was intense, had the front bumper support pushed in so far the radiator was sitting on the crank pulley.

No thanks... :(
 
Yeah you can tell by the ad the guy was ridiculous. $1977 for his trashed mark viii?! They go all day long for that without being trashed....that car is worth $1000......if that.

I asked him if he would take $477 for the car without the drivetrain or give me the body if I pulled the engine/trans for him.... He looked puzzled and said "where would I put the engine?" lol. I said I didn't
have the slightest, but call me when you decide to sell some parts.

Thanks for the compliments, Still have alot of work left to do.
Don't have much pics of it yet, waiting for my suspension to get here before I start a progress thread.

my audio system

- pioneer avhp5700 indash
- stock interior speaker
- rockford 750x Amp (interor)
- rockford 700s amp(subwoofers)
- (2)12" off brand subs in a sealed box
- factory alarm for right now(clifford martrix 3.5rsx)
 
Update: Guy called me back on this car and said make him an offer. Went and looked at it this morning. He had aftermarket seat covers on the seats that looked original and they were ripped to shreds. Original seats are pretty nice. Can't believe I missed it before, guess I'm still a newb :( The interior is pretty dirty, but may be in decent shape with a cleaning. Anyway, I offered him $500 for the car as it sits with the title. He took it so I'm waiting on the tow truck now. I'll take some pics later and see if you guys need any parts. It's got 110k on the clock and a folder over an inch thick of maintaince records from the dealership.

Bonus: Rear bumper is mint :)
 
I know they are a fortune to ship, but mine has rust and I want to replace it with a rust free version.

Took some work to get him to $500, he was stuck on $750 for awhile. Probably could have got in for $300 in a couple weeks, but I needed a frikin bumper!!
 
I also need the hood striker assembly (bottom part) and the fuel pump basket. Can I get a quote on just those pieces?

Not Sure of the condition of the hood striker, but I'll take a look at it. Probably take me a little bit to remove the fuel pump basket, I'm in the middle of moving right now.
 
Yeah, striker looks like it might be fubar. I don't need the pump basket for a few weeks. I have vacation time from the 20th to the 29th and plan to drop the tank and swap it out since I think it is causing my starting problems.
 
The more I look at this interior, the more I want to swap the gray interior out of mine and put it in. I think it would look awesome, just not sure I want to tackle that project.....:confused:
 
Hows the drivers side door panel? Also need a rust free EVAP tray. I wish it had a sunroof... I need a headliner in that color really badly.

I'm turning into an ahole I think, I bought this thing to snag the bumper and part the rest out but I've wound up wanting to keep most of it.

The Evaptray I think is good, I'll double check tomorrow and send you some pics. I've decided to keep the interior, I'm swapping my gray interior out and putting the butter colored stuff in my black one. Not sure exactly what that color is called, but its really grown on me.

If anybody needs some gray interior let me know, not sure when the swap will take place but when it does I'll be ready to empty the garage.
