They did. And, apparently, this is one of the uber rare 4.8 liters.

The conti engines dont fit marks right? I remember someone mentioning it..Just curious.

Why wouldn't they fit? They are modulars. You may have to change small stuff, but the block, heads and rest of the big stuff will fit. Hell, the heads are a direct swap to the mark. being C heads, they're better.

The Continental engine will not fit a VIII.

The blocks are completely different. Heads, etc, etc, etc are the same.

The Ford transaxle's bellhousing is different and the mount positions are different as well.

you cant bolt a rear wheel drive trans to a continental block you wont even get a " close " to fitting. totally different.
