1988 Mark VII Bill Blass for sale 55,000 miles

Car is sold. I've sold my Bill Blass last week to a retired guy who just wanted a good car. I don't think he really appriciates what a neat car these older lincolns are. I was a bit surprised at the complete lack off interest I got from this forum. I didn't receive any conversation about...

    Srutmasters ...Arnott...same company?

Kissmyblass.... You highlighted my response so I assume you directed your statement to me. I have no idea or interest in why Strutmasters did what they did, or can certify what they did was proper. My experience with them held me up for two weeks with lies and promised delivery times...

    BB wire wheels.

Here we go again.....The BB wheels are not baskets. The red center pops off like a hubcap to acess the lugnuts. The spokes are part of the wheel. Come on OLDSCHOOL.....help me out here!

    Wheel bent in

Cast steel does bend. A cast steel spindle is still mallable enough to bend. You could be thinking cast iron which usually breaks before bending. The good news is it can also be bent back into shape again. That is as long as it isn't bent into a pretzel.

    CB's and Portable Phones

Gold plated stuff.... Most cities have someone, who for a same fee, goes to dealerships and "Brush Plate's" emblems and various trim with 24k gold, on the car.

    Wheel bent in

OK....Top of wheel out bottom in means camber is out of spec. If the tire is riding on the outside of the tread pattern more than the inside, the tire will wear unevenly in time. A bent spindle could cause tis as well as a control arm. Depending on how bad it may be possible to correct with...

    Drive shaft ~ u-joint rebuild

U-joints can be a bit frustrating to replace the first time. Before you disassemle the unit mark the hard parts so as to reassemble them in their original orientation. This will ensure you will retain the proper balance. When pressing caps on ujoints be extremely careful not to knock any of...

    Gas Mileage?

Well all those replys make me feel good! My 88 BB gets about 21 around town and 24+ on the open road at 75 to 85 mph. It was using about a quart of oil per thousand miles when I bought it at 34,000 miles. But after a couple long trips at 75mph it's dropped use down to quart every 3000 now...

    Fuel Pump?

Have you checked fuel pressure? Changed fuel filter? Checked out ignition? Before buying expensive parts, varify that the part you are going to change has the best chance of fixing the problem. Or if you are going to through parts at it, start with cheaper parts than the fuel pump. Fuel...

    Having an overcharging problem...

Sometimes they are not dishonest..... Maybe they're just incompetent ashholes who can't diagnose a problem accurately if their life depened on it. Take the hit and find a competent shop, then tell everyone about the idiots!

    Hood won't open - what do I do - Gen 1 ?

Whoa....second break?????? If you replaced it once already then it would seem that there is more to the cause. Where did the cable break before? Did you change cable and housing when you replaced it?

    Hood won't open - what do I do - Gen 1 ?

That really would suck!!! Aside from a crowbar or tourch, and not being able to reach through the grill with leverage tool....... get the front end as high as you can (lift would be perfect) and if my old brain cells are not lieing to me, you may be able to take off a bottom pan and with very...
