What did you do to your LS today?

First thing to understand is that these cars are much more european design than traditional ford car. It shares the DEW platform with the early 2000s Jag S-type. So its not as 'neglectable' as a taurus or something purely ford designed. I use rock auto for part number and image reference, but...

Jag S type front spring question

What about the anti-roll bars (sway bars) ? Are the Jag bars larger diameter? And, if you had the mounts, bushings, and end links, would they be direct fit on an LS? What about thunderbird suspension? Do various jag/ls trims have different bars, or are they all running the same sway bars...

A Warning to Ford Escape Owners

That cradle issue reminds me of the late 90s to early 2000s isuzu rodeo and honda passorts. Or the toyota frame issues. Seems like quite a few manufacturers had design flaws that led to rust issues around that era.

A Warning to Ford Escape Owners

I mean, i hear you, and those are probably all valid points. At the same time tho, I feel like most people dont even know what the gears below D are for, let alone use them (especially when considering the demographic this vehicle seems to be designed for, ie: moms) ... And really, they...

A Warning to Ford Escape Owners

Hinestly, the escapes are a POS. They frequently have transmission problems also. The first gen autos are notorious for failing, and the newer ones aren't much better. Maybe the terrain in my area exacerbates the trans problems, but i see them for sale all over the place with bad trans. My...

    Dccv dual climate control valve?

So far no niticable issues with any hvac or eng temp readins, but i thought i read the car was finicky about air in coolant system, and something about a bleeder. Thanks for the tip about the bleeder being lower than the rest..def not intuitive. Ill look into it further and check it just to mark...

    Dccv dual climate control valve?

Good lord! Yeah thats a damn mess. Haha. I figured u meant a regular old fan clutch and belt drive type of setup. All that is just ridiculous

    Dccv dual climate control valve?

Hey while im here, on the subject.. i lost a little coolant pulling the hoses on the valve. Probably not even 8oz. I recall reading about a bleeder valve on the water neck or something, i think. Shoukd i be consirned with the minor coolant loss, and if so, how should i blled the system...

    Dccv dual climate control valve?

Ah, that would make sense. I figured the v8 would be tighter, but judging by the engine bay, and where the valve is located, it looked like there would still be enough room for a fairly easy part swap. But the old gens having the belt driven fan, the shrowd, etc .. i could see that making it a...

    Dccv dual climate control valve?

I dont know what the rest of you people are doing, but the dvvc on my '05 v6 was very easy to change out. I was in and out of the engine bay in half an hour. Quite literally open the hood and look down, to the left of the radiator, there it is. One attachment point, one wiring connector...

What did you do to your LS today?

The heat stuck on is 99.9% your dccv. Dual climate control valve. I just had the same thing on the ls i bought a few months ago. It also interferes with the ac and all that. Lots of info about it on here but basically the aftermarket ones are hit and miss longevity, and its recommended to go...

    Dccv dual climate control valve?

Just changed the dual climate valvle on an '05 v6 base model. I havent had the car long, and i opted for an el-cheapo replacement. The car needs a few other minor things, a set of tires, and i wasnt sure that the dccv was actually going to fix the problem. It did fix the issue, after replacing...

    PreAmp Leads from Harness?

Thanks thats what i was needing to know. Im pretty sure its a base radio package also. Side question.. ive seen some head units say they wheel control programming. Does that usually work out of the box if i run thru the setup, or is there another harness or anything i need to adapt wheel...

    PreAmp Leads from Harness?

So at this point, i guess im needing confirmation whether or not that connector in the trunk is actually for the factory amp and sub option? And if anybody has any info on that 667 pigtail, if it fits, etc, thatd be cool. Or anything else .. im open to suggestions. Just thought it was...

    PreAmp Leads from Harness?

Thanks for the reply I defintiely could have pulled the seat and ran some lines by now! Haha! And if it wasnt for the challenge of just making it work, i probably would have by now. Well, that, and that im still using the original head unit, and a new head unit is not top of the list right...

What did you do to your LS today?

Mine came with a bunch of black screws and square plastic black washer type things. I also didnt trust the vhb adhesive alone. Neither did the manufacturer, apparently. The lips been on there a couple years and some change now and holding stong.

    Suspension

I have Sensen bare struts waiting to go on. Ordered them from eBay. I found an open box deal on the front pair for $51. Rear pair cost $105. Cant beat that. I dont expect them to be fantastic, but the ones on it now, rounding 150k, are probably stock. They all feel blown out. Lots of lift...

What did you do to your LS today?

I have the same stuff on my xtreme s10 and its worked out really well. I like that its flexible because it doesnt scrape hard like the orginal one did when making transitions. Or when small animals jump out in front of you and fold the factory air dam under and break your fog lamp bulbs. I...
