turns out when its dark and Im trying to work on my car I cant see some important things. Went out to my car this morning and realized that the solenoid on that side wasnt up and turned in enough to be locked. Problem solved and mission accomplished. Thanks, fab for pointing me to the solenoid!
Is this what I should be replacing?

Is it possible to clean the connector with electrical cleaner on the one I have now?
Edit...
So ive done some searching and Ive read a thread about replacing rear bags.
I got the old ones off in like five minutes and got the new ones twisted in to the top bracket in about another five mintues.
I have the car on jack stands and have a jack underneath both lower control arms in an...
When I read this about the belt I thought, "I remember the belt being in bad shape when I bought the car."
So let the laughing begin: To my own defense, it is very dark in the parking garage with dull lighting so I did not notice the shredded belt before lol. The "hurt" motor sound I was...
Its obviously not good. The low coolant light was coming on, then the belt broke. While replacing the belt I removed the filler cap on for the coolant and antifreeze began leaking from the bottom of the water pump.
Ill be getting a new water pump soon. Anyone know if a 97-98 water pump is...
I know this is an old thread but I just realized my water pump is leaking from the bottom, but only when I remove the coolant filler cap. After I screw the coolant filler cap back on the leaking stops. Is this just another sign of a bad water pump? Does taking the cap off allow the pressure to...
I also posted this in the general Mark VIII discussion area so its possible you may have already read this...
I tried to start my car a few weeks ago and I heard some metal "grinding" sounds coming form the motor so I imediately shut it down. I have not tried starting since then.
Some one...
You make a good point, but its worth atleast $400 at the scrap yard. Although a motor swap project sounds fun, I just do not have the place to do it or the time. If the remainder of the car were 100% solid I would consider finding a way to do it...but Im not gonna waste my time at this point...
Even if I had the place to do it, it just wouldnt be worth my time.
Exactly! The complete rebuild on my 98 cobra was $6k (it had a few goodies, mind you) but yeah
How much do you think some one would give for it locally? I have pics up here and there on the site.
Everything else is good on the car 143K miles
Rear bags have a slow leak since I sensor lowered it, shocks are shot, headlights and blinker lenses need to be replaced.
Dings and...
My 95 mark has a hurt motor...
Im assuming it blew a headgasket and overheated.
I parked it filled it back up with antifreeze, let it cool completely, and started it back up a couple days later. It fired right up but it sounded like there were some metal pieces fumbling around in the motor...
