I took the oil out of the the front plug on the drivers side and I'm guessing it was about a teaspoon. I replaced the boot on that coil. I started swapping out coil's on the drivers side and found it was the 2nd coil from the front. Upon inspection of the OEM coil there was a crack on the...
Driving home from work the other day the car started a miss. A VERY pronounced miss that I could feel at 50+mph. Once I came to a stop the car was romping(stumbling) pretty bad.
I had the codes read and it's po174 bank 2 lean.
I wondered if it was a COP so I took the covers off and pulled...
Hey guys. Hope everyone is doing well.
My mark has tokico front struts. Have no idea what type of springs are on it but they are regular ride height sprints (black). I got them from Greg (in Houston) if anyone remembers him.
In the last week the car has suddenly started oscillating...
I just read the codes again and I got the code p08E3. Pressure Cyclinder 8 fluctuating - too high -- pending. I can't find this code for the mark viii. There was another code that was "not found" and had no message.
Are these erroneous codes? I cleared them to see if they would come back.
I just took a trip to San Antonio and back and got 22mpg. As you all know that is NOT good.
I knew about the p1519 and reached behind the plenem and manually moved both sides back and forth hoping to free
them a bit and then cleared the code. After the trip the code is back.
I plan on...
I have a 97 mark viii. I watched the live data of the 02 sensors to see if the catalytic converters are working correctly.
What I found is one 02 sensor not reading anything. I need to know how to find which catalytic converter it is that is not working. Does anyone know the names of the...
I had a 93 base as my first mark and I took it from Houston to San Antonio several times/did the numbers too. It got 33mpg. My second mark when it was running well got 28-30 on the highway. My 3rd mark however is being a bit of a dog. Did everything except delete 2 cylinders and it gets at...
Read this article. If it's throwing when you push the fuel pump hard it might be the fuel pump starting to give. I would test the fuel pump. The harbor freight fuel pump reader works well.

It's very good.
Pressure for cylinder 5 high. I know I have a leaky valve cover and I suspect I have a exhaust manifold leak. Could maybe one of the plugs not be firing and causing high pressure in one cylinder?
I also got P2C25 -- NO DTC definition found. Not sure what this is. When I bought the car it...
Like someone said there must be a vacuum leak somewhere. The vacuum leak makes it default blowing on the dash. The best way to figure out where the vacuum leak is is to have the vacuum system "smogged" or "smoked" by a shop. If it was working before you put in the new dash unit it's pretty...
I have tokico's up front and checked the bolts on the sway bar bushings. The sway bar end links are tight as hell and brand new ( and lubed ).
I'm stumped. Maybe I need to check those sway bar bushings a bit more carefully.
Just replaced upper/lower and end links on both sides in the front. Still get a rattle when going over bumps (in the front).
Think the sway bar links are just old and need replacing? They are tight (as I checked them) but maybe worn out? I also checked to make sure everything was tight...
Thanks!
The 180$ was for "further adjustments". I asked to talk to the lead mechanic but for some reason he never came to the phone after leaving me on hold for 20 minutes. I'm assuming they thought since I had the car towed there I wouldn't have it towed away and thought they would jack up...
On my mark VIII (new to me 3rd on I've owned... 97 ) I replaced the upper/lower control arms and sway bar end links.
This was the condition of the lower control arms. To note: I did not use a pickel bar to get them off.. This was the exact condition when I knocked them off
After...
