What did you do to your Mark VIII today?

Theres a decent one on ebay for 60 shipped unless a member has one for cheaper. I'd part with one of my spares but it would probably be just as much.

    My Gen 2....and PATS

...one key, what should I do about this? Just disable PATS in a tune, or is there a security module for it that I can disable/cut? I heard that the SCIL module can go bad and something behind the ignition can, causing the car to go into anti theft mode. I believe I can get a updated SCIL module...

Oh the joys of having spare parts

I guess it depends on year and if it's a dd or not. For me....Vcrm, scil, cops, clockspring, mfs, or pretty much anything important thats obsolete.

    Mark VIII Anti Theft(?)

The Op has a 2nd gen, therefore the anti theft is built into the scil module. They are located in about the same place, but you can't just unplug the scil. The link slowmkviii put up tells how to relearn the scil.

SCIL problems solved I got info

...over, so we towed it back to the garage. After a lot of research (thanks to this site) and process of elimination we came down to it being the SCIL. He wired it to start by jumping from the fuse box under the hood but it has no light except brake lights. So I instantly ordered a use one off...

    Aftermarket HID Install Question

...without a relay harness or anything else, is all that you needed. 2 each of what you see in the pictures, nothing more. When you switch on the high beams, do the low beams go out? That would indicate that the HID SCIL was swapped for a halogen SCIL as part of a factory halogen retro-fit kit.

    My teeth are drying out...

...in the switch for the column. That may correct that problem. 2-I think just about everyone has had that autolamp off message from time to time. Someone made a post a while ago about it. Just ignore it. Not a big deal. 3 - I don't think it's the SCIL. Try the easy and cheap fixes...

    1993 vs 1998

...the gen1's are simpler without all the gen 2 "features" that I usually turn off in the message center. I like the fact the gen 1's don't have a SCIL module.:) I do like the feel of the gen 2 seats, although I think the gen 1 can be set lower which I like better. I also do like the...
